24 Jan Easy Cooking with Hello Fresh
2016 flew by and between work, the book and all my other nightly commitments, I rarely cooked a meal. I was thankful to come across Hello Fresh because I knew I needed some help in the dinner department. Hello Fresh has a goal of letting consumers enjoy wholesome home-cooked meals with no planning, no shopping and no hassle required, so I knew it would fit perfectly for us. Due to my schedule, it’s hard enough to come up with a meal, let alone find time to shop for the ingredients and then cook the meal. But when all the ingredients, including a recipe shows up your front porch, well that’s much, much easier.
Arriving at my front door was 3 meals, which included all the meat on ice, as well as each ingredient needed. Everything came very organized and I was impressed with how fresh everything looked. As far as the packing and the organization, I couldn’t have been more pleased. I was also pleasantly surprised when I found an apron, as I wasn’t expecting that.
The recipe cards were easy enough to follow, however, I will say that they break the meals up into several steps that didn’t seem logical. So, by the 2nd meal, I decided to take shortcuts to make the meal cook faster.
I am a health nut, so I was able to modify the recipes to exclude the ingredients I didn’t want. For example, two of the meals came with rice and pasta, but I was able to skip those. Colby did comment that in the 6 years of living here, we haven’t had those ingredients in the house, so let’s just say, he was excited. When I didn’t want rice or pasta, I either avoided it or substituted spinach instead.
If you are someone who also is struggling to find time to cook a healthy dinner, then I highly recommend Hello Fresh. You really can’t beat the convenience of food showing up on your front door. And, I love that I can keep the recipe cards for ideas in the future. Also, when ordering, you can use INDUETIME35 to get 35% off your first order.
Below are the three meals we made.
Crispy Sole
Spanish Chicken
Beefed-Up Bologenese

Posted at 12:44h, 25 JanuaryGirl, rice and pasta are two of our staples. We need you to help us 🙂
We tried one box of Hello Fresh, and the food was REALLY good. I liked how all the ingredients for each meal were in their own box. The cost of doing it doesn’t really work for our budget, but I love the idea and think it’s super handy!

Posted at 15:07h, 26 JanuaryI’ve heard of Hello Fresh but never had tried it. That would be super nice especially with a busy schedule. Do you just not eat carbs? I think rice and pasta can be good especially for runners. I also grew up in Brazil where rice was a staple so I really enjoy it. Glad you enjoyed your box!
