1 Corinthians 15:27 All Authority #162

It’s a little surreal that in just a day or two we will know who the new president is. Because of social media and the news it seems that the two candidates have consistently been the topic of conversation. I recently shared why I am at peace with whatever the outcome might be, but I felt like 1 Corinthians 15:27 is another good verse to reflect on this week. It says,“For the Scriptures say, ‘God has put all things under his authority.'”

Most people with authority use it for their own benefit, but Jesus is unlike any human and uses the authority God has given him to serve God and put all things under him. Even though this verse and the surrounding verses discuss the end times and how the resurrection of Jesus covers all things coming under his authority, I think it’s so applicable to the times we are in now.

Jesus has full authority now and will continue to have full authority every day until he returns. I love how the message translation states it, “God’s rule is absolutely comprehensive—a perfect ending!” He truly does reign over everything, including what you are going through today, who the next president will be, the enemy and each and every other situation that comes to mind.

God is in control! Trust him in the good times and bad and remember that he has the final authority in all things.

Thank you for the words of encouragement this morning, Caroline. I don’t know what we would do without the dear Lord. Have a wonderful day!

This is such a wonderful reminder! So many people I know are getting so ugly about all of this, but the most we can do is pray, vote, and then trust. There is no point in sinking to directing hurtful comments to those around us.
