24 Jun 2 Peter 1:3 Complete Devotion to God #277

A few weeks ago I shared a post called, “Every Spiritual Blessing.” In this post I pointed out that you and I have already been given every spiritual blessing in Christ. I also pointed out that we as Christians will continue to perish if we do not know what those blessings are.

We find a similar reminder in 2 Peter 1:3 which says, “Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.”

Just as we saw in Ephesians 1:3, 2 Peter 1:3 also uses the word “everything.” It says “Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited.” Let me reiterate, it doesn’t say a few things or some things but every single thing you need to live a life completely devoted to Christ has already been given to you! How has it been given? Through divine power!

How will you live this life of complete devotion? You will do so through knowing him. The more you walk with Him through prayer, the study of His Word and community, the more you will know him and the more you will know him the more you will have a revelation of the completely devoted life you can have with him.

Do you realize how amazing just this one verse is? God has called you by your name and invited you to a life of encountering his goodness. This is a promise! This is a spiritual blessing that you have access to.

What an invitation! What a gift! The creator of the Earth, who is also your Heavenly Father, has given you everything you need to walk in friendship with Him! Is there anything better?
