525,600 Prayers
Based on the title, is anyone singing the Rent song, “Seasons of Love”? 525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes – how do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes – how do you measure a year in the life? How about love? How about love? How about love? Measure in love. Seasons of love.
I don’t think I’ve actually seen the musical, but I have heard the song. This post actually has nothing to do with the song, but I couldn’t help but relate the amount of minutes and moments to all the prayers that God has heard for our babies. God just leaves me awe-struck some times. It’s amazing to me that He has blessed us with 3+ years of praying over our babies. For their conception. For their delivery. Their health. Their sleep (yes, I often ask they would be good sleepers). Most of all that they would fall in love with Jesus at a young age.
Thousands of prayers! Not just from us, but from so many other prayer warriors too. It amazes me that we wouldn’t have had this opportunity had we conceived in 2012 when we originally wanted. I feel so blessed that He has chosen us to be on this journey. It amazes me that one day we will get to tell all of our children our journey of praying, hoping, believing, and declaring. It simply just overwhelms me.
I always try to look for the blessing. I always try to focus on the good. Focus on LIFE. Even though this journey is so hard, I can now add all the prayers I have been blessed to pray to the list of things I’m thankful for. Hundreds and thousands of prayers for THEM! It truly is a privilege to partner with the Lord and share my heart’s desires with Him.
Whether you have asked 1 time or 525,600 times, keep asking! Press into the Lord and keep praying. He acts on EVERY prayer. None of your prayers are being wasted. He isn’t tired of hearing your desires. Keep asking until He fulfills your request!
“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” 1 John 5:14-15

Posted at 07:42h, 17 JulyWow I have NEVER looked at it that way. I’ve been so angry with God for not “hearing” my prayers, maybe I will change my prayers, and pray for my future baby. Thank you!!

Posted at 08:55h, 17 JulyMe & my husband pray for our babies too, by their names. Always ask God to bring them on His time as His will is perfect. I would love to be a mommy now, but have trusted the Lord that it will happen when they are ready. In the meantime we cherish and give thanks for ALL of His blessings.

Posted at 09:22h, 17 JulyThis is beautiful. I also feel so blessed that He has chosen us to be on this journey. We try to pray with the kids every night. A good reminder to double up our efforts in making this a priority. We are all on this journey of life together! God bless!

Posted at 11:21h, 17 JulyBeautiful post….prayer is so intimate and it’s also not just about what you want or expect from God. It’s about giving Him the opportunity to reveal to us what He expects of us. Awesome.

Posted at 20:26h, 17 JulyThank you for giving us a new way of looking at unanswered prayers. Keep praying. We prayed for 10 years before our daughter was born. I was 37 my husband 45. We had wanted a house full but God knew best. She is a blessing above all blessings. She has taught us so many things and taught us so much about God. I will be praying with you and for your children!

Posted at 22:10h, 17 JulyWhat a great analogy. How many dozens of times during a single day do we whisper a request to Him? Thank you for this beautiful post!

Posted at 22:34h, 17 JulyBeautiful post! Some of us may feel like God is not listening when our prayers are not answered immediately, but it’s important for us to still have faith and continue praying. He may not answer our prayers when we want him to, but he’ll answer them at the times that he knows is the best time.

Posted at 10:55h, 18 JulyHa! I thought of the song “50 000 Watts of Common Prayer” by Roseanne Cash, which I always associate with our daughter 😉 (It played on the radio the day we discovered that she was with us).

Posted at 12:58h, 18 JulyWhat a great way to think of just how many prayers you’ve prayed! We keep a family prayer journal, and we also discuss how God is answering those prayers regularly. it seems to really help our kids see prayer in action. I love seeing just how many prayers we’ve said as a family… I can only imagine how the prayers of my heart compare in number….

Posted at 15:14h, 24 JulyI found this encouraging. I think I have almost quit praying for a baby because I am too scared of being disappointed if it’s not God’s will for us to have a baby.
