Aligning Your Life With God’s Purpose
Even when it doesn’t seem, feel or look like it, God is always up to something. This truth can be easy to forget, especially when you find yourself in the middle of the unknown, like we face now with a worldwide pandemic.
No matter what circumstance we face, there is still purpose for each and every day. Which is why it’s so important for us to press into what God is speaking and saying. Not only does He speak through His written Word, but He speaks to us corporately and individually as well. He is always speaking, but it’s up to us to listen closely to what He is saying.
It was just a few weeks ago, while dozing off, when God spoke to me about the season we are in.
This is a season of re-calibration.
When I looked up the definition of calibration it said, “to standardize something by determining the deviation from a standard so as to ascertain the proper correction factors” or “to adjust precisely for a particular function.” When we hear this word or read the definition, it is usually used in terms of a measuring instrument.
But what I feel so strongly is that God has brought us into a season of recalibration, or in other words a season of “coming into alignment.” Not just spiritually, but in all areas of our life too.
I believe that not only does Father want to recalibrate us, but that this is a time of re-alignment for those who have felt like they have missed the call on their life (recal(l)ibration has the word ‘call’ in it). I truly believe He wants to bring alignment to any of us who feel like we have strayed away or gone down the wrong path as well as bring alignment to those that have accepted the lie that it’s too late to fulfill the purpose God has for them.
It’s way too easy, especially when the difficult circumstances grow in intensity, to come under the mindset that “it’s too late.” It’s too late to return back to the Lord, open the business, become a mom, find a spouse, receive healing, be set free from an addiction, start a career or fulfill the dream you once had. But it’s not too late! Father wants to bring alignment to any and all of these areas.
Don’t let the enemy feed you lies that you missed the purpose for your life or that your dreams are too far gone to come true anymore. Think of how off course Saul was, yet the Lord recalibrated him and used him in such mighty ways. God has great purpose for every believer and no amount of mess-ups or getting off course can prevent the future from being purposeful. How fitting that Elevation Worship released a song this month with a lyric, “If I’m not dead, you’re not done, greater things are still to come.”
If this is resonating with you, start asking the Lord what areas of your life He wants to recalibrate. I think part of the recalibration process is going to happen when you recal(l) Him. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, now is the time to wake up to what really matters, Him! Not only is it a time to recall Him, but it’s time to recall the testimonies of His faithfulness, recall the dreams He once spoke to you and recall the promises He made to you.
Don’t miss this opportunity to align your life with His! As you seek the recalibration process trust it’s not too late to get back on track and to fulfill the calling He has for your life. Get excited because He’s not done, greater things are to come!
