Ephesians 6:13 Stand Your Ground #241
The past 3 weeks I have shared from Ephesians 6 and I am continuing again today with Ephesians 6:13 which says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
Remember when I posted about Ephesians 6:11, which said, “Put on the full armor of God?” We see that same phrase again in this verse, which means clearly, it’s very important. Again we are now told two times to put on the “full” or “complete” armor of God. Remember, you need to put on the full armor, not just a few pieces of it.
Why do you need the full armor of God? “So that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Without putting on the full armor of God, you won’t be able to withstand the evil attacks that come your way.
Satan will do anything to stop God’s plans in your life and it’s your job to use the tools given to you to stand your ground when the attacks come. Notice that this verse says the word “stand” twice. Not only will you not be able to defeat the enemy if you don’t use the complete set of tools, but you also won’t be able to defeat him by sitting down. You must take a stance! You must be in position and alert. The enemy is very deceiving and will come like a prowling lion (1 Peter 5:8) and you will not defeat him unless you are in position to do so. Not only that, but when you are prepared for the battles you face, you will still be standing after they come.
It’s so important that we understand that every Believer is in a war and every Believer will face the enemy. As a Believer, it’s your job to access the tools you need to prepare yourself for battle. I will be sharing more about those tools next week, so come back and join me for more!
