I can’t get the song, “Get Your Hopes Up,” by Josh Baldwin out of my head. It’s been out for a long time but I am still singing it. It actually reminds me of the 2017 Moms in the Making conference because that was one of the first times I ever heard it.

I know this might be obvious, but I want to remind you there is an invitation for every believer to get their hopes up. It might be easier to partner with hopelessness but for those who are followers of Christ, we are called to have hope! We actually have every reason to have hope because hope is a person and He lives on the inside of you and I.

Romans 5:5 says, “hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.”

I think there can be some confusion when we discuss hope. You might be thinking, “I have been disappointed before.” Well, I have too! But I want to point out there is a big difference between putting your hope in things or people and putting your hope in God. If I put my hope in getting pregnant this month and it doesn’t happen, then I’ll be disappointed. But if I put my hope in God this month, then I will never be disappointed.

For me personally, my big turning point from devastation to hope actually happened when I transitioned from putting my hope in other things to putting my hope in Christ. My life changed the moment I surrendered everything over to the Lord and since that moment? I have been overflowing and radiating with hope!

If you are someone who is facing heaviness and discouragement, let this song be a reminder to you to get your hopes up!

“Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!” Colossians 1:27

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

I’m living in the goodness that He brings

Let your faith arise
