God Has His Eyes On You

The first time we returned to church after Kai passed away, I was an emotional mess. Not just at church, but really all the time. It’s crazy trying to navigate life when your world has turned upside down in front of you.

We had a guest pastor at our church that day. I don’t remember what his sermon was about, but all I remember him saying was ‘God has his eyes on you’. I swore He looked right at me. I didn’t take this as a threat or conviction, but instead it spoke straight to my heart. Despite all the pain, sadness, shock, (insert awful emotion here), God was in complete control. He had not forgotten me or my family.

Wow. Isn’t that something we all need to hear and remember? The timing of that word was so perfect for me. Despite the fact that it felt like the world had crumbled before me, God was and is still in control. He hasn’t given up on me or any of us.

Isn’t it amazing to think of how many people live in theย world? Yet, He knows the most intricate details of each and every person and still loves us despite how broken we are?

No matter what you are facing today, remember God is on your side. He wants to partner up with you and do life together. Nothing that happens to you, whether good or bad, big or small, is a surprise to Him. He is as far away as the breath from your mouth. He sees what you are going through and is genuinely interested. He knows every step you are going to take today. Every word you speak. Every action you make. He cares. He is just as engaged with what you are going through as you are. Don’t miss out on how much you are loved by Him!ย He has His eyes on you and if you don’t sense Him, maybe it’s because you haven’t sought Him out.

Beautiful post! TRULY the Lord does not forget us! One of my favorite verses (along this theme) is from Isaiah 49:15-16: “”Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” SO beautiful! Thank you for the lovely reminder sweet friend!

This is one of my favorite posts you’ve ever done. I love that it started with a story… You know how my heart responds to stories – of hardship and loss and love and ultimate glory. Thanks for the encouragement today!

I’m reading some of your previous posts on your blog and getting to know you,… you have such amazing faith. You stand firm as God requests and that is just awesome!! You have built yourself upon a ROCK and NOT SAND! Don’t ever lose hope, because there is definitely a right time for everything and everyone!! As I have learned from the past = if we don’t go through certain situations, we cannot relate to and/or help others as we need to when God places other hurting people in our lives. Also, He builds a strong shield of faith for us to hold as each day goes by. Our shield gets stronger and stronger. God strengthens our grip on our sword for Him, to fight off all the negative that is not from Him that is thrown our way. He will also wrap the breastplate of Himself around us, so He can hold us up, be our strength and push forward in great faith. God is holding you in the palm of His hand and He created you for so many things He has in store for you. Like you said, in due time ~ His time. I love your posts. Beautiful!!! And I am so sorry to read about Kai. I love that name. Doesn’t it mean “ocean breeze” in Hawaiian? I have a bond to that name, another story for another time. …but, I cannot imagine the pain and sadness. He is at peace right next to the most peaceful One. He is okay now. xoxo

I feel like God’s promise to me in 2012 (well, and always, but specifically then) was “I know you. I see you. I am the God who sees.” Just the knowing that He is there, He sees, He knows,…so comforting to my spirit.

Isn’t it amazing that the God of this ridiculously huge universe knows more about me than I do myself — and for everyone on the planet? He is so big, but yet desires for us to know Him. I’m sorry for you loss.
I’m glad to have found your blog.

Definitely a good thing to keep in mind, but it’s so hard to sometimes. Especially in the midst of IF when it can feel like prayers just aren’t being answered. I’m glad God was able to speak through that pastor into your life at a time when you really needed it.
