06 Jun Heaven Come Conference 2018

This past weekend I attended the Bethel Heaven Come conference. Towards the end of last year, myself along with 2 other leaders in the fertility community, discussed getting together for a girls weekend and when we realized the Heaven Come conference was in Dallas, we booked our tickets.

One friend, Lauren, is local to Dallas and is the founder of I am Fruitful and the other, Jessica, flew in from South Carolina. Jessica writes over at Grace While We Wait and she founded The Garden. Both of these ladies are powerhouse women and it was such an honor to spend one whole weekend with them. The fun part about our connection? I met them both via the internet! Isn’t that fabulous?

Our heart was to get together and discuss how we can best love, support and serve the fertility community. While we did have time to chat and brainstorm, it definitely wasn’t enough as the focus of the weekend was attending the Heaven Come conference. The weekend kicked off when Jessica flew in Thursday morning. Her and I were able to spend the day together, which I was so thankful for. We got coffee, lunch and then spent time at the hotel before heading the conference venue where Lauren met us. The conference went from Thursday evening through Saturday evening. Sunday morning Jessica and I went to church, a friends house and then hung at my house before I had to drop her off at the airport. I was so sad she had to leave!

The conference itself consisted of 8 speakers and lots of worship sets. It was a powerful weekend of encountering the Father. As if the speaker line up (Bill Johnson, Kris Vallaton, Steffany Gretzinger, Johnathan Hessler, Jeremy Riddle, Jenn Johnson, Brian Johnson and Christine Caine) wasn’t awesome enough, they had all their main Bethel Worship teams there too which included some of my favorites like Amanda Cook and Kristene Dimarco. I had too many favorites parts, but let me just tell you, to be in a packed out crowd of thousands of people all worshipping the Father was maybe the most amazing part. There is just no price tag you can put on such an incredible experience.

In this post, I don’t think I’m going to unpack all the truth that I learned as I am still trying to unravel it myself, but I do want to share some pictures from the weekend and share a bit about my time with Lauren and Jessica. I also want to take a second to remind you how important it is to surround yourself with Spirit-filled, Bible-believing women. These two friends, along with many others, have lifted my arms up over the past few months. They have partnered their faith with mine in believing for miracles. They have pointed me to truth in moments where I have felt down. If you don’t think it matters what you listen to, watch, how you spend your time or who you surround yourself with.. well, then you are wrong! It makes all the difference. Find the kind of friends who you can worship, dance, dream and pray with. Find friends who will spur you on in your walk with Christ. Find friends that because of them, you will feel challenged in the best way possible. For me? I can say without a doubt that without these two women, I wouldn’t be who I am today and for that, I am forever grateful!
