Isaiah 64:4 Waiting on God #156

Have you been waiting on God for something? Let me take a guess. You feel like God has forgotten you in your waiting? Although it might feel that way at times, Isaiah 64:4 says otherwise, “Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.”

Good news friends! God acts on the behalf of those who wait on him. Yes, that is a promise from him! While you wait, God is working. He hasn’t forgotten about you, but instead he is “acting” on your behalf. The NLT translation says he “works for those who wait for him!”

God is working just for you. Keep waiting. You aren’t wasting your time. In fact, the best thing you can do when God tells you to wait, is to do just that – wait! Even though often times it might feel pointless or like you are wasting your time, God knows and sees the bigger picture.

Whatever promise or breakthrough you are waiting on, don’t stop waiting! God is acting on your behalf! Rest in him and wait confidently and expectantly that he will reveal his finished work to you soon.

Thank you for this on the National Day of Encouragement. I remind myself that God gives me time to prepare for the blessing that I need. If I am waiting for it, that means I have more to do. It also means I need to keep looking because God will give me what I need in His wisdom.

    Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this reminder! It’s hard to wait in and I especially think it is hard in a fast paced American culture.

I don’t know how I missed this wonderful verse, considering my husband & I just finished reading Isaiah a couple weeks ago! Thank you for bringing it to my attention!

Very insightful! I’m curious as to how to know when to wait vs step out in faith. Especially when not clear between two options, one involves stepping out in faith, the other waiting on God. Would be interested in your thoughts!
