It’s Time to Wake Up

There is so much on my mind and heart when it comes to COVID-19 and I am sure you can relate. There is both sadness and joy, confusion and expectation. So many feelings exist at the same time.

Back in December, there was an event that took place with a death of a little girl that spurred a worldwide wake up call for many. Whether you followed this event or not, it was referred to many as a time of global awakening. It’s interesting to me how her death and the start of this virus took place around the same time.

And here we find ourselves 4 months later, in what I believe continues to be a time of global awakening. The whole world has been called back into their homes. It’s a time of rest and reset and a time for some to be awakened and others to be re-awakened. As long as I’ve been alive, it’s the only time we have experienced anything like this. And it leaves me in awe that the whole world can participate in what can and I believe will be, the greatest awakening.

For me personally, some of the feelings of expectation are due to passover, which begins tonight, April 8, at sundown. If you follow any of the prophets, you are well aware about the words of turnaround in regards to passover. How can one not be excited when they hear such encouragement?

And some of my feelings of expectation come any time I enter a hard season. I get excited when I think of what is on the other side of the difficulty and discomfort, and this season is no different.

There aren’t just feelings of excitement, but also an urgency to wake up and pray. Please don’t misunderstand me, I think we should always be praying and I think we should always be awake, however it’s often events like this that open our eyes to these two truths at even a greater level.

I truly believe we can’t continue moving forward as lackadaisical, luke-warm Christians. Which is why we need to wake up and pray. We have to repent and turn back to Him! He is looking for a mature bride. He’s looking for sons and daughters who are whole-heartedly sold out to Him!

The good news is, it’s not too late to wake up! It’s not too late to run back into the arms of your Father. He’s waiting for you. If you have never known Jesus as your Lord and Savior now is a great time to accept the invitation He’s already extended to you. If you have made Him your Lord already, but have strayed away or made idols of other things, now is the time to humble yourself, repent and turn back to Him! I do strongly believe, as been expressed by so many others, that now is the time to repent! Now is the time every single one of us need to humble ourselves and turn back to the Lord.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

And when it comes to prayer there is so much on my heart. I do believe if we are going to see a shift and turn-around in this crisis, we have a role to play. Our prayers matters and it’s the prayers of all the saints that need to be heard. Here is what is at the top of my list:

Our president. Whether you are a democrat or republican, think he’s the best president or worst, you absolutely need to be covering him in prayer. Daily! Please don’t stop.

Authorities. Not only do we need to be praying for our president, but our local and state authorities as well. Every person in a leadership role needs our prayers.

Neighborhood. Pray for marriages to be restored. Pray for sickness to be removed. Pray for peace to be released. We have been going on prayer walks and praying over our neighborhood, you can do the same in yours.

Medical Community. Pray for all of the medical staff and those who are on the front lines.

COVID-19. Pray this virus is eradicated. Pray it ceases to spread. Pray it loses all power.

Evil. Pray for the evil people. Pray any evil activity, especially within the government or wealthy leaders, is exposed to the light. Pray for evil people to encounter Jesus and turn from their wicked ways.

Fear. Pray those Christians who are experiencing fear would encounter the love of Christ like never before. We know that God’s perfect love casts out fear, so pray for a great understanding of His love.

Believers. Pray Christians would no longer be luke-warm, but would have a hunger for Jesus like never before. Pray those who have been sleeping, will wake up.

Non-Believers. Pray that those who don’t yet know Christ as Lord and Savior, would come to know Him.

This list by no means covers everything and everyone, however it does list out what is at the forefront of my mind.

Don’t wait any longer, now is your chance to wake up and pray. Now is your chance to get alone with Father and seek Him first. Now is your chance to assist in seeing this nation turnaround, free from sickness and sold out to Him! Don’t waste this season. Don’t waste this opportunity. It’s an invitation to wake up and pray! Will you accept it?

“Strengthen those who are discouraged. Energize those who feel defeated. Say to the anxious and fearful, ‘Be strong and never afraid. Look, here comes your God! He is breaking through to give you victory! He comes to avenge your enemies. With divine retribution he comes to save you!’ Then blind eyes will open and deaf ears will hear. Then the lame will leap like playful deer and the tongue-tied will sing songs of triumph. Gushing water will spring up in the wilderness and streams will flow through the desert.” Isaiah 35:3-6

Such a powerful message! Thank you! I told my best friend I felt now more than ever I needed to be right with the Lord because we don’t know what tomorrow holds. Honestly, it’s how we should live our lives regardless of covid. Nonetheless, this post gave me chills and I agree with you 100%!! Bless you and yours.
