Memory Monday – Week 39
One of my favorite songs around middle school/high school was Freedom by Darrell Evans. At that time, I probably didn’t fully understand the lyrics or the chorus, which are from 2 Corinthians 3:17. Now that I understand, I see how profound this verse is.
2 Corinthians 3:17 says, Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
We know that the Lord is the Spirit (The trinity is made up of God, Jesus, Holy Spirit). But the second half of this verse tells us that we are called to live in complete freedom because of Him! When Jesus died on the cross, it cleansed us from all sin and all bondage. We were set free and covered in His freedom and grace. Because if this, we can live in complete peace, joy, and love.
I wrote last week about living an abundant life. I think living in complete freedom is part of living abundantly! Stop living in bondage to your finances, your health diagnosis, your job, your infertility…. I don’t know what it is, but God wants you to cling to who you are in Christ and live in the freedom that He bought, paid for, and desires for you!

Posted at 23:25h, 10 FebruaryI literately just read this in one of Joel Osteens books. He mentioned that people need to start loving their life and enjoy the freedom they have.

Posted at 11:25h, 11 FebruaryI have always admired you for your ability to live in freedom; You and Colby with your awesome little excursions and your constant desire to live your life for God and not in pursuit of any one thing. This really is the key to peace & happiness. You’ve got it figured out girl!

Posted at 12:36h, 11 FebruaryI love this scripture and I love this song. Being studying on something similar to this verse. God is so gracious to us and wants the absolutely best for us. We just have to be willing and ready to live the life he has for us.

Posted at 15:08h, 11 FebruarySuch a beautiful verse! If I’m ever brave enough to get a tattoo I think I’ve decided that I want it to say “I am free” or “because I’m free”.

Posted at 20:16h, 11 FebruaryIt is so easy to get caught up with our constraints, and think about all we can’t do because of them. I’m happy for your reminder that we can be free in Christ!
