Memory Monday – Week 26
Ya’ll – I have been OBSESSED with this verse this past week. The Lord is so sweet in bringing it to me and I’m super pumped to share it with others! I couldn’t decide which version I liked best, but the image below is the NIV and here is the message version which is as equally as awesome!
But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right – everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones.
This verse shows God’s character and gives us direction in how to live. The Lord waits because He desires to be gracious. Seriously, how sweet is He? Whenever it feels like He is delaying, remember there is always a reason and purpose behind it. By no means does He wait just to tease or torture us. That is not who He is. He is compassionate and loving. Also, I love that this verse states that He is a God of justice, as He I have been studying more about this lately. We have been asking for His justice on our situation on a daily basis. He will bring justice and bring life to us – again, how exciting is this? And, the last part of the verse just gets better; there is a built-in blessing for those who wait. As I’ve said in so many other posts, we don’t just wait to pass or kill time, we wait actively for the promises from God.
I don’t know about you, but I’m grateful that the Lord is gracious, compassionate and just. It’s so hard to comprehend how amazing He is. I can’t wait to see how he unveils our blessings as we we wait.
Verse 19 goes on to say that God promises to bless His people by responding to their cries. I just love that He hears EVERY prayer and every time we pray and cry out to Him, He acts on our behalf. I took 5 pages of notes on Isaiah 30 which was all about Judah needing to trust in Jesus, not Egypt. It’s a great chapter if you have a chance to check it out and a reminder that we need to trust in Him, not our natural circumstances.
