Memory Monday – Week 37

We just got back from being out of the country for a week and when we returned I received a sweet email from a friend with Hebrews 10:23 included. It was perfect timing as this has been one of my favorite verses over the past year and I knew immediately I wanted to share it. Can I just say that I am forever grateful that we have an army of people praying for us, believing with us, and encouraging us. It is truly a blessing!

Hebrews 10:23 is about holding on to the truth. Hebrews 10:19, the start of the call to persevere, tells us that we can approach the Lord with freedom and confidence. As Hebrews 10:22 says, when we use the confidence that has been given to us, we draw nearer to God. Why do you think people can go through really, really hard times with such a peace and a joy? It’s because they approach the Lord with confidence and they seek Him. This is a privilege that too many people miss out on. It’s not to be taken for granted or lightly. A price was paid for us to receive this gift. Make use of it! He wants us to draw near to Him during the good times and during the bad times.

When you draw near to God, what happens? We grow in our faith, we overcome doubts, and we deepen our relationship with Him. Hebrews 10:23 tells us that we grow when we hold on to the hope we have in Him. There is no room to waiver. Because of Him, we can remain confident and hopeful, that He who promised is faithful.

Put your confidence in the one person who is faithful! You will never be disappointed.

Reminds me of Hebrews 11:1-2, too: Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

I can’t imagine the despair of going through life without the hope of Christ. I need Him like I need air!

Love this! It our Bible challenge I was reading about Jesus walking on water and one of his followers started walking on the water with him, but then he became afraid and doubted Jesus so he started to fall into the water. And Jesus said- why do you doubt me and why is your faith so small! Such a strong reminder to trust and believe even when we are afraid!

This is one of my go to verses. I printed it on paper and stuck it to my fridge several months ago 🙂

This verse is perfect. A great reminder that with our hope placed in God we can take a stance of victory, because he’s always fighting for us.

Amen! My word for this year is trust…and god has been reassuring me again and again to just let go and trust.

So true. The amount of people you and Colby have praying for you must be outrageous I’m guessing, and I know you know what a HUGE blessing this is. To be able to confess to Him so confidently, not only on your own, but to have so many doing the same with you and on your behalf….such a privilege! I’m one of those people praying for you!

Super happy you and your husband were able to take a nice trip together! As always, your posts are such an encouragement to me every time. This is one of my absolute favorite verses. I’m thinking your next trip should be to South Korea 🙂

Beautiful verse. I haven’t heard/read it in a while, so it encouraged me as it did the first time I read it. Wow! Thanks for sharing, sweet girl!
