Memory Monday – Week 51

Hope is the strong and confident expectation of something desired. I have shared a lot over the years about hope, but what happens when what you hope for is not obtained at the time you desired? The answer will depend on the significance and importance of what you are waiting for and the length of your wait. The longer you wait the more your heart and mind can grow weary. You might feel that you have wasted time hoping for something and the hope you once had might soon turn into hopelessness.

Hopelessness isn’t the only option while waiting. Proverbs 13:12 says, ‘‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. When we are steadfast with our hope and we receive what we have hoped for, it is like a tree of life. How sweet is it when something prayed for, waited for, hoped for, and believed for breaks through and you receive what you have longed for? Don’t stop hoping for what you are desiring – whether it’s in the natural or the spiritual. A new job, breakthrough in health or finances, a marriage, a baby, etc. A tree of life will rise up in the perfect time – it will not be delayed.

You better believe I have replayed the scenario 100 different times of us finding out we are pregnant – the joy, the celebration, and the sweetness that will happen on that day. Even better, 9 months after that when we are holding our babies – what a sweet gift of life we will receive. In reality, I have no idea what that day will look like. I don’t know if it will be tomorrow or it will be 10 more years. But, what I do know, is that hopelessness is not an option. We will keep on believing, keep on hoping, and keep on having faith that He who promised is faithful. Our tree of life is coming and if you keep on pressing into Jesus and hoping for what you’re waiting for – your tree will also come.

Hi Caroline, Hopelessness is NOT an option. Because God is all powerful and is the creator of life. Never lose faith in this. I know you wont. So hoping we meet one day. You are such an inspiration. I love this verse, it is so true. How sweet it is when we finally are rewarded with something we have waited for. We treasure it so much more.

Hoping is the hardest part of this journey sometimes. It feels like it’s all we do and it’s completely exhausting when you keepp hoping and hoping and it feels like for nothing! Heres to hoping this will be our year!

We have to remember that it’s all in God’s time and he makes no mistakes… His timing is divine and perfect.

A tree of life will indeed rise up in the perfect time Caroline. Remain steadfast in faith and hope in God. He who has promised is faithful. He knows the day, hour, minute, second when you will hear that good news and share it with family, friends and loved ones that we may celebrate with you. Don’t give up! God bless you.

Holding onto hope can be so hard sometimes. I feel renewed in my hope right now. He has a plan. But it is so exhausting sometimes.

So so true. I wish I had read this 3 years ago when I thought I’d never get married and wanted it to badly. Waiting for it hurt so bad, even knowing that God was in control. Great post, Caroline!

Thank you. I needed this. Along with accepting God’s will for whatever will or will not happen, I guess I was kind of giving up hope, too.
