Memory Monday – Week 69
While listening to Greater over and over this week and sharing a post about the song last Wednesday, I really wanted to learn more about the scripture the song is referring to, 1 John 4:4, which says “Dear children, you belong to God. So you have won the victory over these people, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
This verse tells us that we belong to God. Because He is victorious over the world, He who lives within us (Jesus) is the greatest of all. No matter what or who we face, Jesus is the ultimate victor. We may have many spiritual enemies, but nothing is as big as Jesus.
1 John 2:15-17 references the spiritual warfare of this world. We can either choose to love the world or love Jesus, but not both. We know we will face spiritual warfare, but we can rest in 1 John 4:4 that Jesus always wins the battle. Christ living in us is greater then the devil who lives in this world. Don’t let your trials overtake you. Stay strong and recognize that He is greater than anything you are facing.

Posted at 10:33h, 13 OctoberHi Caroline, What a great Sunday, right??? I love that no matter what trial we are facing, we can have confidence knowing that our God will have ultimate victory. No matter how bad things get, we know that He will bring us out of it and give us a greater victory, and usually a wonderful lesson from the pain, and in the end He will defeat the enemy. There is no greater joy that this. Blessings to you.

Posted at 14:02h, 13 OctoberGreat verse! Often times when faced with trials we shriek back and think the devil is winning but we can’t ever forget that Jesus is in us and we are powerful…not powerless! We just need to take our authority in Christ and speak the word. Love ya twiny!

Posted at 09:04h, 14 Octoberthis reminds me of the call to be holy because He is holy – it causes me the same kind of spiritual warfare. holy is such a big deal!! can’t let the little things slide when you’re keeping your eyes (heart and mind) on being more like Him.
