Memory Monday – Week 7

I came across this verse last fall and it spoke volumes to me. It’s been a great reminder as each vicious cycle passes by and I was reminded of this verse again after my last post.

God’s response to all of Habakkuk’s questions for Him was that He would work out His plans in His perfect timing. It would not be delayed.

It’s so easy to feel discouraged by our infertility situation and the evil we are surrounded by in this broken world. As we make a decision to follow the dream God placed in our heart, we wonder when God will answer our prayer. But, we know we all have to go through waiting periods where God builds our faith and character. This verse is a reminder that He is not denying us from our dream, but teaching us patience as He says “Not Yet”. We need and want to continue to trust Him even when we don’t understand the when or the why.

When the right time comes, God promises He will do what He said He will do. He will provide for us in the best possible way at the perfect time. It will not delay! His timing is perfect! Hallelujah!

This verse also reminds me of the lyrics from this song:

Oh my god he will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear his promise is true
My god will come through always

Great verse! I’m not familiar with it, and it’s always fun to read new verses. Now I want to take a closer look at Habukkuk and see what was going on for him to write those words!

Yes, this hits very close to home for so many of us. Loads of extra patience is needed to be a parent anyways, it’s comforting to know that these lessons we are learning now will help to shape the parents we will become. 🙂 I’m glad you posted this, thank you! I love reminders that our challenges and delays are all part of a bigger plan!

I love that. It feels delayed to us, but it’s not. Whatever we’re waiting for always comes right on time. What an excellent reminder.
