Memory Monday – Week 84

The Proverbs 31 woman is one who many Christian ladies strive to be like. There are books named after this proverb, ministries, and it’s the go-to chapter for girls before getting engaged or married. The 31st chapter details what it looks like to be a wife of noble character. Proverbs 31:25 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

This verse doesn’t reference what a woman of noble character is wearing on her body physically, because that is not important. What matters is what she is clothed with emotionally and spiritually. She is covered in strength and dignity which are never to be removed from her. She is worthy of honor and respect and that far outweighs how any one can see her physically. What is important for any woman is that we carry these traits.

Not only is she covered in strength and dignity, but she can laugh without fear of what is to come because her joy is not based on her circumstances. She does not live in fear from the enemy, but lives in love from the Lord. All those who are in Christ have this same privilege – nothing to fear, because we know how the rest of the story is written and we know how the script ends. We know that nothing can separate us from the love of God and therefore we have nothing to fear.

Even though none of us know what the future holds, we can trust that God holds the future! We should have no fear of what is to come, but be free from all anxiety and rest in what lies ahead. Let us all be woman and men of noble character while we live in the present and enjoy each day that lies ahead.

I strive to be fearless about the future. I really do. I struggle at it. Because we just don’t know what’s around the corner and that is horrifying!!!

Love! I was just about to quote what Jennifer did above – joy not being based on her circumstances. That gives me such motivation right now. I’m going to have to go read Proverbs 31 again today!

Such a good verse. its such a strange thing fear and the feeling i get from it some times is just quite overwhelming. but prayer is an amazing thing. so need this reminder ALL the time – fear & anxiety are from the enemy – striving always to be wrapped in love only 😀
