Memory Monday – Week 89

As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus this coming weekend, I thought this verse was fitting: 1 Corinthians 15:4,  “He was buried, he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures—and is still alive!”

Christ died for our sins, just as the prior verse, 1 Corinthians 15:3 says. He bore our punishment so we don’t have to. If we all realized that His death had to do with our sins, maybe we would take our sins and our relationship with Him more seriously. His story doesn’t end with his death, because after He was buried (which proves His death), He rose again. I appreciate that this version of this verse ends with He is still alive. The reality is that He is very much alive. Sadly, many people are trapped in sin and without hope, and these are the same people who don’t realize that Jesus died for our sins and wants to be each and everyone’s Savior.

Jesus through his death and then his resurrection is who brings life to every situation today. He IS life. He resurrects dead things. He resurrects old things. When you are celebrating Easter this weekend with loved ones remember that  it is not about an Easter egg hunt or a big feast, but it’s about celebrating our living Savior and King.

Yes! I so love this version! I think a large percentage of people forget the true meaning of Easter; at least people who aren’t Christians. He truly brings life!

Such true words and a wonderful reminder, Caroline! I am so thankful that we serve a risen Lord Who is very much alive and in tune with the daily details of our lives. He is so faithful to prove that to us in so many ways. I loved what you said about how we need to remember that it was for OUR sins that He had to die and how if we would keep that in mind, we would take our relationship with Him more seriously. May we never cease to be amazed at His great sacrifice, and may we love Him even more this Easter! God bless you, sweet friend. 🙂
