Why I Am Not Interested in Your Multi-level product

Why I am not interested in your multi-level marketing product

Some days I feel like there is a big target on my back telling all the multi-level marketing people out there to “sell your products to me.” In all seriousness though, weekly, sometimes daily, someone reaches out to me via social media asking me if I would be interested in their product, often claiming it will help me to get pregnant. And lately, it’s been draining.

First let me start by saying that I think multi-level marketing companies are great and I fully support those who work for them. In fact, I myself am a distributor of Young Living essential oils and Stella and Dot jewelry. While I don’t spend much time with either of these companies, they are companies that I enjoy being a part of it. I love all my jewelry and I love substituting oils for medicine and pursuing a healthy and natural life, which I have referenced many times throughout this blog. I think multi-level marketing companies are great in that it gives people an opportunity to stand behind a company they believe in, make some extra cash and make their own hours. But, unfortunately, there are several downsides to them as well.

It gives me a bad taste in my mouth when people try to “friend” me only to end up trying to sell me their product and unfortunately that is what I don’t like about multi-level marketing. When it becomes more about making money off of me and claiming that they can fix my problems, than truly caring about me, is when I believe the lines have been crossed. But, it’s more than just that. When people message me telling me I WILL conceive after using their product, it tells me that they believe their product is bigger than my God. It makes me sad that people think after 5 years, their new supplement, drink, oil, powder {insert product here} will be the magic potion to bring a baby to my womb. If getting pregnant were that easy, I would be pregnant by now.

The tone in this post isn’t anger, because I am not angry. Annoyed, a little bit, haha, but it’s really informational to tell all those who are selling a product out there, that it’s not your product that is going to create a baby inside me, it’s God! All God. Yes, God might use medicine or a supplement to do so, but even if there is some magic potion that helps, he will still get all the glory. So, please know if you work for a multi-level marketing company, I fully support what you do and will back you up and encourage you in any way. But I also need to remind you that although the product you might be selling is fabulous and helpful, it’s not your product that will make me pregnant, it is ALL God!

Knowing your involvement with YL and Stella and Dot I was curious as to your take on this, but I totally get it now! You are absolutely right! No one and nothing is greater than God, and He will do it!

I do think it’s easy to act like it’s the product that is making someone healthy or bringing them x or y. You are so right about this!

I was interested to see where you were going with this one. I’m so sorry you are being hounded like that. Girl, you are SO right!!! Nothing is bigger than our God! Only He can create a miracle in your womb. As a YL educator I can see how naturally I would want to help anyone that has hormonal imbalances or issues where I know and believe oils from the plants God created, could very well help to support those areas. But you sure won’t see me claiming that the oil will 100% do what only God can do!! Praying for your weariness friend.

I can relate with the annoyance of people adding you just to sell you their products. I feel that approach lacks genuineness. It gets under my skin if I sit there and think about it.

But I am really glad you posted this, because truly the Lord is sovereign and in control of it all. Nothing is greater than him and nothing can thwart his plan. So true Caroline!

Amen to that, we used science to help with baby but God is the miracle worker here. God gave life to that embryo and steady hands to that embryologist.

MLM is a pet peeve of mine. I just don’t like to feel forced to buy a product from a “friend”.

Amen!! I have been reading your blogs and posts on Instagram. They given me so much encouragement because my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 10 years now. I am waiting patiently on God and have faith that He is going to bless my husband and I with a healthy, bouncing baby.

That’s why I love Young Living! They don’t coach you to hound people like some companies do (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked if I’d want to be a Beachbody coach). They are the people that give MLMs a bad name.

I get those too, but not so much the fertility side. Most people are reaching out to me are trying to get me to dress better and make myself look more beautiful. I honestly like the way I look.

God should get all the glory with every pregnancy!

Totally agree! And you know I love Young Living 🙂 I’m drained from people trying to sell me It Works around here. And it’s somewhat the same concept…but people constantly saying “if you get a massage, you’ll get pregnant” or “if you do Whole 30, you’ll get pregnant”. No, conception is through the power of Jesus only! Love you, friend! Miss chatting often!
