Proverbs 2:9 Your Destiny #225
Who wants to walk into their destiny? I would think everyone, right? Proverbs 2 sets you up to do just that. Before moving to verse 9, I want to follow-up from last week when I shared Proverbs 2:7-8. Today’s post will probably make a lot more sense if you read it first. For purposes of sharing the context, here is first 7-9, “For the Lord has a hidden storehouse of wisdom made accessible to his godly lovers. He becomes your personal bodyguard as you follow his ways, protecting and guarding you as you choose what is right. Then you will discover all that is just, proper, and fair, and be empowered to make the right decisions as you walk into your destiny.”
The end of verse 8 is key to understand verse 9. It says, “as you follow his ways…guarding you as chose what is right.” When you follow God’s ways and choose what is right, “then you will discover all that is just, proper, and fair, and be empowered to make the right decisions as you walk into your destiny.” I absolutely love that this verse uses the word discover. You will never discover what the proper path is for you when you are living for yourself and doing your own thing. You will never discover what the right path is when you never spend time in the Word. You will never discover what the proper path is when you don’t follow his ways. But when you follow him? You will “discover all that is just, proper, and fair.”
I just can’t get over how simple God makes it for us. When you follow him? He will reveal the next steps he wants you to take! And not only that he will “empower you to make the right decisions as you walk into your destiny.” The word empower means to “give someone the authority to do something.” This excites me and if you keep following along I will talking about the authority that you have in Christ in the next few weeks.
So do you want to walk into your destiny? Do you want to be empowered to make the right decisions? Do you want to discover the correct path? Follow God’s ways!
