Qualifying the Called

Qualifying the Called

If you know me, you know that writing a book would be the last thing on my bucket list. In fact, it wouldn’t even make the bucket list. Interestingly enough, writing is not my talent. I always struggled with it and never enjoyed it. I love numbers and I love excel and it’s best I stick to those two topics.

I love how God works though. Has he ever called you to something, but it’s the last thing you would ever have interest in doing? It’s when he does this that he makes it so obvious that it is him. There is really no other explanation. You better believe that is exactly how I have felt about this book. I knew that I would never come up with such a crazy idea.

I am not even qualified.

But God doesn’t always use the A-list writer to write a book or the best public speaker to be a pastor. He uses people like you and me. Everyday people. And when he does? He gets all the glory.

There is no other explanation for this book happening than him. He called me to do it and he made it happen. I certainly don’t have the qualifications on paper, but he gave me the words to write and the wisdom to put it all together.

Don’t let your lack of abilities or talents prevent you from doing what God is calling you to do. Allow his strength to be used in and through you. If it doesn’t make sense or it doesn’t feel comfortable, then you know it’s probably from him! Trust that if God calls you to do something, even if you aren’t qualified, he will give you all the wisdom and skills you need to make it happen.

So very true, friend! And I totally feel ya! I’m a numbers and excel girl all the way! Also, I was never the girl to pick up a baby first or volunteer with the kids, yet God called me to be a foster mom…he definitely uses the unqualified 🙂

It amazes me how God calls us to things that we wouldn’t feel like are within out capabilities. I think in some ways it’s His version of forcing us to trust Him because it can be hard to remember to fully trust Him when we’re just doing the easy things.

Good word! There are areas where He’s calling me to branch out and it’s scary. I can’t wait to get your book in the mail! 🙂

Yes!! I do have a vision on my heart that I really think God put there. And I think He keeps nudging me to move forward with it because it randomly comes to my mind and I keep coming up with more and more ideas. Just don’t know how to bring it to fruition. Praying that God opens the doors and even bigger prayers that I see the doors open and know enough to walk through them! Praying that He shows me the way!
