Romans 5:9 You are Righteous #267
Do you understand just how much the Father loves you? Last week I shared Romans 5:6-8 on the topic of his passionate love towards you. Today I want to share Romans 5:9 which says, “And there is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, ‘You are now righteous in my sight.’ And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God.”
I love how this verse starts out with, “And there is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us!” Amen! Isn’t it true that we could go on and on about his unfailing love? The verse then goes on to say what the blood of Jesus declared, “You are now righteous in my sight.” Cue the tears, am I right? His blood declared you and I righteous. I mean we deserve death, but instead we are in right standing. Isn’t that amazing? Not only that but because of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, we won’t have to experience wrath. Does that truth not leave you in a state of gratitude and thankfulness?
I want to share the Message translation of this verse too which says, “If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we’re at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life!”
When you were at your worst God sent his son to die for you. Wow! If we as his sons and daughters only had a revelation of just how loved we are! If you were to truly grasp this truth, what do you think would change for you?
