30 Sep The Bigger Picture
Waiting and waiting and waiting. I know about waiting all too well. While my wait for babies hasn’t been nearly as long as what some have endured, whether for babies or for something completely different, 4.5 years has felt very long to me.
How often have you asked for something and expected God to act on your behalf in that very moment? But like me, maybe that ‘very moment’ turns into 4.5 years? or 10 years? or 20 years? It’s clear that God has his own calendar. His ways are better and his timing is better. But, if God loves his sons and daughters, then why would he want to delay blessing them? It’s confusing, right? To God, it makes sense. He has access to view the bigger picture. God sees something larger than you can see.
At any point, God can bring us a baby. But, the beautiful thing is, he hasn’t yet. Why? Often times the Lord waits until we can’t do anything about our situation, because he wants us to come to him. Sure, we can visit doctors, try medicine, try surgery, try procedures, but none of those will bring us a baby, only God will! He might use those avenues to bless us, but ultimately, God is the creator of life.
God loves you. He is always working in your best interest. But sometimes he allows your situation to hit rock bottom to show just how powerful he really is. Don’t be discouraged. If you feel like you are at the end of your rope and there is no way out, remember there is a bigger picture. Don’t try to figure out all the answers or make something happen that you really want, but rest in the faithfulness of God. And when he comes through for you, as he always does, he will not only create an amazing testimony for you to cling to, but his miracle-power will be so evident that nothing or no one will get the glory besides him!
PS. I am giving away a pair of these cute baby moccasins over on instagram!
