03 Oct There is a Better Way!
If you think of a simple drive home, let’s say from your office to your house, there are most likely plenty of options. Even though there are several routes to take, there is usually one way that would be the fastest and easiest and therefore, the best!
Every day as conversations happen with strangers or people I know, or as I scan social media I often think to myself, “there is a better way.” And then I begin to wonder, why are they choosing that route when they could be going down a much easier, smoother and faster one?
Sickness. Bondage. Fear. Sin. Anxiety. Punishment. Legalism. Bitterness. Anger. Jealousy. All of these topics can easily come up in conversation on any given day. But, there is a better way! You don’t have to live bound to your past. You don’t have to live in sin any longer. You don’t have to be ruled by fear. All these topics bring me back to the post I wrote recently on “what is different about you?” So many Christians look just like the rest of the world, acting as if there is only one way; going down the path the enemy has set out before them, but that isn’t truth. God didn’t send his one and only son to die on the cross for you to live sick or for you to be bound to sin and live brokenhearted forever. And, he definitely didn’t do it for you to go down the path of mass destruction.
Yet, that is how so many live. Why? Why are Christians living day-to-day acting as though there is no other option? Why do they act as if they don’t have a choice?
You have a choice! You can live as a victim, who is miserable every day, or you can live as a victor and enjoy the abundant life that God has for you. You can live sick for ever and ever or you can pursue the healing that belongs to you. You can be angry or you can be joyful. The options are endless for you, but there is always a better way and that better way has to do with Jesus! It’s going to take you making a choice to identify more with him than with this world. It’s going to take you choosing to access all that he has for you.
I don’t know about you, but I am going to choose to pursue full health and life. I am going to choose to walk the path of peace and wholeness. I know there is an alternative and I am not interested in it. I am not interested in being ruled by fear, when I could choose to live in peace. I am not interested in living in sickness, when I have access to full health. I am not interested in being miserable every day, when there is a better way. There are several paths in front of you. What is it that you will choose?
