We Won’t Be Shaken

Colby and I have enjoyed going to a lot of concerts this year. Last week, we went to a Building 429 concert and they sang their new single, We Won’t Be Shaken.

They shared they wrote this song to display their confidence that resides in the Lord, despite the circumstances of this world. It was originally written for their new CD, but when they were asked to play for a “Night of Hope” after the Sandy Hook tragedy they knew the Lord had put this song on their heart for a reason. They decided that night they would play it for the attendees.

This song is awesome, it was perfect timing for me to hear as well, especially after the tragedy in Moore. Despite what happens in this world or how many cycles it takes us to get pregnant, We Won’t Be Shaken!

Fun Facts # 1: This song is from Psalm 62:6 – Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

Fun Fact # 2: Their band name is based on Ephesians 4:29 – Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

This world has nothing for me
This life is not my own
I know You go before me and I am not alone
This mountain rises higher
The way seems so unclear
But I know that You go with me so I will never fear
I will trust in You

Whatever will come our way
Through fire or pouring rain
We won’t be shaken
No we won’t be shaken
Whatever tomorrow brings
Together we’ll rise and sing
That we won’t be shaken
No we won’t be shaken
Oooh oooh oh
Oooh oooh oh
Oooh oooh oh
No we won’t be shaken

You know my every longing
You’ve heard my every prayer
You’ve held me in my weakness
Cause You are always there
So I’ll stand in full surrender
It’s Your way and not my own
My mind is set on nothing less
Than You and You alone
I will not be moved oh

We will trust in You
We will not be moved
We will trust in You
And we won’t be shaken

No we won’t be shaken
