11 Oct With Wings Like Eagles
I mentioned in a recent post, Waiting on God, that I was going to be writing a few posts about the magazine I received on waiting. There is a devotional in the magazine that covers chapter 40 of Isaiah, which refers to the restoration after the exile when God spoke to comfort His people. The passage reveals the power and love of God and the life He offers to us when we seek Him fully with our desires and weaknesses. The whole chapter is great, but for this post I’m just going to focus on verses 28-31
Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard? The Lord is the everlasting God; he created all the world.
He never grows tired or weary. No one understands his thoughts. He strengthens those who are weak and tired. Even those who are young grow weak; young people can fall exhausted. But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.
We can put our hope in the Lord and and expect that his promise of strength will help us to rise above our trials.
We are so thankful that God knows our heart and situation perfectly. As quoted in the Ephesians verse below, the strength God gives us is the same strength He used when he raised Christ from the dead. He has done amazing things on this earth and will continue to do so for C.J and I. We are praying boldly that we can continue to remain patient as we wait for Him and we can trust He will give us strength to soar like eagles.
Psalm 37:3-7 – Trust in the Lord and do good; live in the land and be safe. Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire. Give yourself to the Lord; trust in him, and he will help you; he will make your righteousness shine like the noonday sun. Be patient and wait for the Lord to act
Psalms 46:7-10 – The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Come and see what the Lord has done. See what amazing things he has done on earth. He stops wars all over the world; he breaks bows, troys spears, and sets shields on fire.“Stop fighting,” he says, “and know that I am God, supreme among the nations, supreme over the world.”

Posted at 20:01h, 12 OctoberI found your blog on hte ICLW list and have been reading some of your story. Know I prayed for you today. I am thankful that you can find peace in the shadow of His wings, I am not sure what I would have done without my relationship with Jesus on our journey to parenthood. My husband I walked through 5 miscarriages and were on the path of adoption when our miracle happened. God blessed us with a successful pregnancy just under a year ago and our miracle boy was born 2 months ago. Our marriage was strengthened and blessed by our waiting and even our heartbreak as we discovered that Jesus was all we had to cling to. Wishing you continued hope and peace on your journey, and trusting with you that God has a perfect plan for you and knowing His timing is Perfect.
