Yes and Amen. Housefires. In Due Time Blog

Yes and Amen

I have been getting wrecked by worship lately and this song, Yes and Amen by Housefires, along with Take Courage have been my go to songs. These lyrics are so powerful! God has brought me out of darkness, filled me with peace, he is the giver of mercy and my help in time of need!

Friends, rest in God’s promises today! You don’t need to strive for them. His answer to every promise is “yes” and “amen” so allow yourself to soak in his presence. He already completed the work on the cross!

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God” 2 Corinthians 1:20.

Yes and Amen by Housefires

Father of kindness
You have poured out of grace
You brought me out of darkness
You have filled me with peace

Giver of mercy
Your my help in time of need
Lord I can’t help but sing

Faithful, you are
Faithful, forever, you will be
Faithful, you are
All your promises are Yes and Amen
All your promises are Yes and Amen

Beautiful Savior
You have brought me here
You pulled me from the ashes
You have broken every curse

Blessed redeemer
You have set this captive free
Lord I can’t help but sing

I will rest
In your promises
My confidence
Is your faithfulness

“Wrecked by worship”… I love how you worded that. Worship does that same thing to me.
I’d never heard this before – its beautiful

Such beautiful, comforting words! I haven’t heard it, but I enjoyed reading the powerful lyrics. I love the verse you shared…it hit me that it is our responsibility to say “amen”, in faith, and believe that He will fulfill His promises, in order to make the promises reality in our lives. A verse God gave me recently is Job 22:28, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee…”. There is SO much power in our words! I am trying to be very conscious of that and speak LIFE and the things He has promised us. Thank you for reinforcing my focus today!

Thanks for sharing! I haven’t heard that song even though my wife loves many songs and videos from Bethel …. I’m not following them as much…. I’m often more inspired by the REYER dance/edm remixes of those worship songs 🙂 And Jesus says “Yes and Amen” to creative and diverse styles of worship 🙂 I’m so glad for that for that freedom (which includes your freedom) … and I love to be lost in worship and when some few times I even try to dance (I never dance other times 🙂

I love the lyrics, what a great worship song. The ones that wreck us are always the best.

    “Faithful, you are
    Faithful, forever, you will be”

These two lines hit home for me this morning. The reminder that God is faithful always is something I need to focus on often. Thanks for sharing this 🙂
