Infertility and Abortion

God’s heart is fruitfulness and multiplication. He is a Father of increase. The enemy’s goal is the exact opposite. It is to steal, kill and destroy. He’s after destroying relationships and health, finances and jobs, families and babies.

His goal is to kill off the next generation and he does it two ways: through abortion and infertility.

Although in the natural realm they feel like such opposite topics, when we approach them through a spiritual lens we realize there is a spiritual connection between infertility and abortion.

The correlation between the two is something I have wanted to address for 4-5 years. Now, I want to preface this post by saying I am referring to the spiritual realm. The battle against wombs is not one we fight in the natural realm. We don’t wage war in the flesh but in the spirit. That is because the battle is not against the flesh but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

From the spiritual perspective, there was great victory over wombs with the overturning of Roe vs Wade. The spirit of death over wombs was broken.

I think this is way more significant than many of us realize. Being so connected to the fertility community I want to point out that it’s very significant for those trying to have children. Why? Because the spiritual stronghold over wombs was defeated. 

I’ve already heard of many spontaneous and miraculous pregnancies since the overturning of Roe vs Wade and I am fully expecting to hear many more. My encouragement for those desiring babies is if there was ever a season where you got your hopes up to get miraculously pregnant, this is the season for you!

God’s Heart For Life in Wombs

I want to back up a little bit as I want to make sure that just like any topic, that I approach it through the lens of scripture. Abortion and infertility are not political matters, they are spiritual matters. And at the end of the day it’s not my opinion or your opinion that should lead our decisions, it’s God Word.

Which is why we seek the Father and ask Him — what is your heart over abortion and infertility? What does your Word say about the topic?

God’s Word makes it very clear that His heart is for health and life over wombs. He is for life and babies and he is against murder and abortion.

Proverbs 6:16-19 says, “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” 

God hates abortion. And He hates murder too, which is why he commands us not to murder in Exodus 20:13

I know I am just sharing a snippet of scriptures on the topic but I also wanted to share the following on His heart towards life:

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3-5

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

He created us! In fact, He knew us before we were even created or born. Amazing right?

For Women Who Have Had An Abortion

If you are someone who has had an abortion, may I encourage you to seek the Father and receive His forgiveness? He doesn’t want you to be bound to the decision you made, He wants to love you and extend grace and compassion towards you. He sent His son Jesus so you could be set free from the bondage of your decision. Will you receive it?

PS. By engaging in the spiritual aspect of this conversation, I am not denying that there is much to be done in the natural realm. I’m also not denying that many women are impacted by this overruling. However, neither are the focus of this message.
