Moms in the Making – Session Four

This upcoming June will be 2 years since I started an Infertility Support Group. Thankfully, shortly after the group started one of the girls helped me with a much better and fitting name, Moms in the Making (MITM). If you have read prior MITM posts, you know that every girl who was in the original group from June 2013 is now a mom. We have a whole new group of ladies, and 2 more just joined over the past month. There are a total of 7 of us again, and 2 of those girls are now pregnant.

It continues to be such a blessing to meet every other week with a group of ladies who are also going through infertility. While we are all on different journeys, we all have the same desire – to be a mom.  After the initial round of pregnancies, 2014 turned out to be a much quieter year with just a few pregnancy announcements. Even though as each month passes there have been plenty of hard moments, failed treatments, and tears – God has continued to give us strength and grace to carry on. The fact that all of the original girls are moms now, with several of them having already celebrated their baby’s first birthday says a lot about the amazingness of Jesus.

While I wish I was on the other side and a mom to many babies, I’m thankful to see God’s faithfulness in so many different journeys. Each person has a testimony of prayers being answered, and although there are several of us still waiting, we know that God will repeat the same miracle for us. Each time we meet we spend a lot of time sharing updates, in prayer, and discussing a book. We are also currently reading Barren Among the Fruitful, which we started a few months ago. If you want to see the other books we have read I did a post on them here.

If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and are interested in coming to the group, you are welcome! Please do not hesitate to contact me! If you have no idea what group I am talking about you can check out the prior posts here. I highly recommend reading the testimonies too!

It is so wonderful that you do this! While it breaks my heart to know your name is still on that “waiting list”, it inspires me that you are not bitter…that you press on in the pursuit of encouraging and blessing others who share your pain and anticipation. One of these days, YOU will be celebrating that first birthday with your own baby, and your joy will be complete. In the meantime, you are such an inspiration of faith and perseverance. Keep up the great work! God notices, and your work will be rewarded. 🙂

What a wonderful post. I did a few myself when it was NIAW and it tugs at my heart to read any stories about the battles us mommies have faced to become a mom. Beautiful post!
