03 Nov Moms in the Making Conference – Day 1
I have no idea how I am going to recap the conference. There is way too much to share. So for purposes of this blog post, I think I will share a brief summary and then stick with mostly pictures.
The Moms in the Making conference was for any Mom in the Making, whether her story was adoption or biological, treatments or no treatments, we wanted to create a safe place for women to come and be encouraged. This was our 1st conference and we sold out. God upgraded us in every was possible. We had women come from 32 states and 3 countries, which was absolutely incredible!
We wanted every woman who attended to feel loved and seen and so we tried to bless them from the moment they arrived at the hotel. There were packages waiting for them there with a personalized card from me and a bag full of gifts. Their swag bags they received at the conference had so much swag, including a personalized name card, prints, jewelry, notebook, pens, etc etc etc. Also included was a 1K coupon off a medicated treatment! We tried to have lots of details throughout the weekend that would make them feel overwhelmed with love!
The theme for this year was Hope Renewed, which was birthed out from Isaiah 40:31, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”
We kicked off Friday when the doors opened at 5 pm. The actual conference didn’t start until 6:30 which gave time for attendees to eat, mingle, take pictures, enter the raffles, visit the remembrance tree, pick up their swag bag, shop, etc.
Melanie, a dear friend of mine, a board member, and the MC of the night and I started at 6:30 on stage with announcements. We had several giveaways throughout the weekend and decided to kick off the night with the biggest one: one free IVF treatment! After that and a few other prizes, there was then a surprise for me. Melanie and the team surprised me with a video, which just blessed my heart so much.
We then had a time of worship, which was amazing, before we played this beautiful testimony! It’s a must-see!
We had three speakers for the conference and Melanie was up first. She spoke on the topic of surrender, which she rocked. We then followed that with two activation activities: each woman surrendered their burden to the cross and each woman wrote down a testimony of God’s faithfulness. Both were sweet and powerful moments.
When the attendees left they were each handed dessert and a prophetic card of encouragement.
And well, that is a wrap! Clearly it’s hard to articulate all that God did. And for me, everything was an absolute blur. I’ll share part 2 next week but for now, if you are someone who is in a wait to become a mom, come join us over in the Moms in the Making. If you want any swag from the conference, you can buy it here!
