24 Apr Our Encouragement for You During Infertility
It’s time for my 6th annual National Infertility Awareness Week collaborative post. This year I asked the Moms in the Making support group leaders what they would say to encourage any woman going through infertility and their answers are below. We hope these answers bless you and remind you to keep your focus on Him! And we hope if you haven’t already found a community to get plugged into, you join Moms in the Making
Our Encouragement for You During Infertility
Alyssa Beckerdite | Greenwood, MO – Even when you’re disappointed and you feel like everything is out of control, God has a plan for you and your family. Continue to lean in and press into Him and His Word. Go to Him with not only your happy news but your disappointments. He will keep His promises, so don’t lose heart.
Amanda Corbell | Dallas, TX – You are more than those words on a doctors chart. Who you are can’t be summed up by a diagnosis. You are loved, wanted, seen, worthy and you are God’s chosen one. Don’t let anyone define who you are.
Amber Strealy | Corpus Christi, TX – Jeremiah 29:11 says God has a plan for each of our lives. Sometimes it’s hard to understand what’s happening in the here and now, but trust the Lord knows what He is doing in your life. “So don’t be impatient for the Lord to act; Keep moving forward steadily in His ways, and He will exalt you at the right time. And when He does, you will possess every promise, Including your full inheritance.” Psalm 37:34
Amy Benson | Sheyenne, ND – The key is what you do in the wait. The wait is a gift of time to chase Father deeper than you ever thought possible, and then go even deeper after that.
Amy Sugar | New Orleans, LA – You are fertile in God’s eyes. His word is faithful and true. He is birthing so many things for your good and His glory in your season of waiting!
Angela Lee | Camden, SC – Your story isn’t over yet. No matter how your circumstances may look around you the amazing thing is that God looks past those. He is still in the miracle working business today.
Annie Joern | Wesley Chapel, FL – Infertility is not from God. Like James 1:17 states, every good and perfect gift is from above, meaning God wants to be gracious to you and grant the desires of your heart. Throughout the Bible there are so many testimonies on how God restores and heals infertility. Rest assured that Gods plans are better than ours and no diagnosis is greater than Him!
Bailey Myers | Russell, PA – Nothing is impossible with God! The enemy takes things from us like our fertility but our Father is so faithful and restores all things. He makes all things new! Trust in Him and His faithfulness because His plans for you are good!
Beth Cacciapalle | Clinton Township, MI – God has the final say in any situation and He is still in the miracle business. Remind God of what the Word says and declare it over your situation. “God’s grace provides for the barren ones a joyful home with children so that even childless couples find a family. He makes them happy parents surrounded by their pride and joy. That’s the God we praise, so give it all to him!” Psalm 113:9
Britni Mazur | Cold Lake, Alberta – If God placed the desire to be a mom in them, then “God will make this happen, for He who calls you is faithful” (1 Thessalonians 5:24). Whether it is through doctors and treatments, adoption, fostering, or natural conception, God has promised to make the childless woman a joyful mother of children (Psalm 113:9). He sees you, He loves you as His own precious daughter, and He cannot go back on His promises to you (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Brittany Mulinix | London, OH – God provides Hope in every situation. He knows the plans for you, which include a future of hope (Jeremiah 29:11). God wants us to know He hasn’t forgotten us!
Brooke Simkins | Orland Park, IL – The promises of God’s Word speak a better word over infertility. His word is the truth in every situation – even more so than a doctor’s diagnosis. He will work all things for your good.
Camille Yoder | Brownsville, OR – Hebrews 10:23 says “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promises.” This means that every promise in His word is for us today, and we can be filled with hope because God is trustworthy and always keeps His promises!
Christina Mendyk | Lincoln, NE – God delights in you because you are His beloved (Colossians 3:12)! The number of thoughts He has for you outnumbers the grains of sand on this earth (Psalm 139:17-18)! So remember your worth is not dependent on your ability to conceive and carry a baby. You have a Father who adores you and says you are worth so much more!
Dalia Uribe | Monterrey, Mexico – God has a purpose for your life, maybe right now everything looks broken, but sooner than you think, if you surrender your desire to Him, you will experience an amazing peace and hope in the midst of all this. God is a good Father and He wants the best for you and your husband!
Danika Turcotte | Alna, ME – God promises to work it ALL for your good! You may not be able to see the good or purpose in it now, but the Bible promises that He will work all thing for the good of those who love Him & are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)!
Jacquie Tilma | Wake Forest, NC – The Truth is God is more powerful than any infertility diagnosis. He is more powerful and knowledgeable than any doctor. God is a miracle worker, and He is still working those miracles every day!
Jessica Spatz | Phoenix, AZ – Infertility can feel like a dead end to your dreams, but God is faithful and true to His promises. All things are possible for the Way Maker. “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” Proverbs 30:5
Julie Schultz | Lewisville, TX – You are not your diagnosis and the doctor doesn’t have the final say. Put your faith and trust in the Lord. Just like he did for Sarah, He will keep His promise of babies to you!
Kaitlyn Kusky | Ft. Myers, FL – You can trust God! He is bigger than any diagnosis. He is the ultimate healer and He always keeps His promises! “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful“ Hebrew 10:23.
Katie Tsiao | Colorado Springs, CO – Don’t try to walk the road of infertility alone! Galatians 6:2 says “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” We are called to do life in community, the good times and the bad!
Katt Tibbitts | Surprise, AZ – Everyone’s story while walking through this roller coaster journey called infertility is different but they all matter. Whether you’ve been on the journey for 1 year or 10 years, your story matters.
Kim Marin | North Richland Hills, TX – You were created to be a mom. The Bible says in Genesis 1:28 “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply…” God’s promises are always yes and Amen, no matter what diagnosis you are facing. You are fruitful and His word will not return void!
Kristen Rardon | McPherson, KS – God is working behinds the scenes. You might not see it or feel it, but He is fighting for you.
Lakin Maddox | Clarksville, AR – God does not cause infertility and there is nothing you have done to deserve infertility. Nor is there anything special you have to do to deserve God’s blessings. In Genesis, God tells us to be fruitful. “God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it’.” He loves you so much that He only wants good for you and wants to give you the desires of your heart. In Psalms we are told, “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” While God does not cause infertility, He can work through you to use your journey as a testimony of His love and faithfulness to you.
Lauren Citro | San Diego, CA – Infertility is not a death sentence, it doesn’t mean your life is over, or that you have to be miserable until you have a baby. Yes, this season will bring its own challenges, ups & downs, and moments of grief but that’s not all it will bring. Jesus said he came to bring us abundant life. Allow yourself to keep pressing into the beauty of being alive- there is peace, hope, and joy for you here.
Lindsay Tankersley | Cincinnati, OH – God is always faithful and comes through on His promises. Keep praying and holding steadfast to your faith. He hears every prayer, sees every tear and is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Like the song Waymaker says “even when I don’t feel it, you’re working. Even when I don’t see it, you’re working. You never stop. You never stop working.” Hold onto that. He is working for you!
Mary Fish | Mount Gilead, NC – God will never leave you in your journey to grow your family. He will hold you when you cry and cheer you on during the good days too. He is there through the whole process. His hand is in every aspect of this current season of your life.
Megan Walker | San Marcos, TX – God will be with you from the beginning to the very end. Run towards God, not away from Him! “My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.” Psalm 73:26,28
Melissa Forster | Springfield, MO – The Bible promises God is close to the brokenhearted. He hasn’t forgotten you. In fact, the He is keep tracking of all your tears. You aren’t doing one step of this alone. Don’t hold your feelings in because He is big enough to handle all of them. He sees you, hears you and cares so deeply for you.
Nicole Bantleon-Pierce | Green Bay, WI – You are not your diagnosis!! God has the ultimate say in your story and he is not done with you yet! “God has good things for you!” Jeremiah 29:11
Rachel Strickland | Dunn, NC – All of God’s promises are yes and amen! God has created you in His image, and you are MORE than any diagnosis or disease! He has a plan that reaches far beyond what you can comprehend, but He wants you to put it in His hands, and rest in the truth of His word!
Rian Shaw | Pitman, NJ – God is so faithful!!! Ephesians 3:20 God is able to do abundantly more than you could ask or imagine. Seek God for comfort and cling desperately to His word and He will graciously give you His perfect peace!
Sarah LaMontagne | Richmond, MI – Aways have hope as Psalm 71:14 says. Hope in God is steadfast. No matter what your diagnosis is, always have hope.
Shelea Mollerstuen | Puyallup, WA – Our Father is good and gives good gifts to those who ask (Matthew 7:11). Infertility is not from Him and is not a punishment for something you did or did not do. He always keeps His promises and knows the desires of your heart. He sees you, hears you, and is with you in this journey: “You’ve kept track of all my wandering and my weeping. You’ve stored my many tears in your bottle—not one will be lost. For they are all recorded in your book of remembrance.” Psalm 56:8 TPT
Stephanie Hodges | Cape Girardeau, MO – God has not forgotten about you, He has promised you a future and a hope. He is not finished writing your story. Abide in Him and rest in His promises to you. You are His chosen beloved daughter. He loves you, He loves you, He loves you.
Stephanie Kaiser | Burleson, TX – God is good and His promises never fail! The truth is in the Word. 1 Chronicles 16:34 says “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalms 145:13 TPT says, “You are the Lord who reigns over your never-ending kingdom through all the ages of time and eternity! You are faithful to fulfill every promise you’ve made. You manifest yourself as kindness in all you do.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 TPT also says, “For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory!”
And my encouragement for you? Don’t go through this alone! Get plugged into a community that is focused on God’s Word, like Moms in the Making. I also want to encourage you not to make infertility your identity or motherhood your idol. Instead, pursue your relationship with Father more than you pursue a baby. Root yourself to the Word of God and cling to His promises over you and your future family. Lastly, instead of trying to work or strive your way into becoming a mother, surrender your situation over to Him and rest in His finished work.
