17 Apr Essential Oils: Part 7: Lemon
Today I’m sharing about one of my favorite tasting essentail oils, lemon, which is a great oil to use for energizing, circulatary support, and cleansing. Since water is the main thing I drink during the day, I’m so grateful to add some flavor and some extra health benefits too. I also add lemon to my face wash and face lotion recipes as well as use it with pepermint and lavender for allergies. You only need a drop or two at a time and to prove how potent the oil is, it take 75 lemons to make one 15ml bottle of oil. When drinking oils with water, never put them in plastic. Always use glass!
Below are several ways to use lemon and while this list isn’t exhaustive, it should give you an idea of some of the benefits:
- Remove Spots (gum, oil, grease) – Apply 1-2 drops to stain
- Detoxify – Add 1-2 drops to water
- Freshen Laundry – Add drops to homemade laundry detergent
- Minimize/Sooth Calluses – Apply 1-2 drops to area
- Hand Sanitizer – Apply 1-2 drops to hands
- Exfoliant – Add 1-2 drops to skin cleanser
- Minimize Acne/Oil Production – Apply 1-2 drops to oil/acne area
- Alkalize body/Relieve Heartburn – Add 1-2 drops to water
- Purify air – Diffuse in air

Posted at 07:07h, 17 AprilOh, my word! I couldn’t believe the timing of this post!! I was just praying this morning seeking God’s will about a way to cleanse my lymphatic system. I was planning to do the lemonade cleanse for 3 days next week, Lord willing, but now that I am reading this, I am wondering if possibly I should do the lemon in water instead, since it is so much more concentrated. I had no idea they use that many lemons to make one bottle of oil!!! No wonder it is so effective. I am SO thankful you helped get us started on these oils, Caroline. I am enjoying your posts about them…wish I could participate in the online classes you are hosting. But, so thankful you share this info. here! 🙂

Posted at 08:21h, 17 AprilLemon is the best! I do the allergy trio also and put it in my water. It’s also great for getting sticky stuff off of things!

Posted at 16:58h, 22 AprilSo you’re saying that 12-14 drops at a time isn’t necessary for this one, either?! 😉 Only kidding. So glad you’re so knowledgeable on these oils!!
