Lifestyle Food/Drink Changes – Part One!

I have never made a New Years Resolution, however for the start of 2013, I’m hoping to not make a resolution or a “diet” change, but more of a lifestyle change.

As it is already, I’m a health freak. I love veggies, I love fruit. I crave protein and other high fiber, low fat foods. I eat fairly healthy, most of the time. I’ve always try to stay away from anything that is processed or fried. Do I eat junk? Yes! But, if I never did again, it honestly wouldn’t bother me. I could eat a salad for the rest of my life and be so happy. However, I do have some bad habits that I’m going to try to change.

Caffeine – I drink both diet drinks (mainly Diet Dr Pepper) and Coffee. I won’t miss the coffee too much. I tend to drink it at work, only because it’s right in front of me. However, I do LOVE DDP and will definitley miss cutting that out.

Artificial Sweetener – Goodbye Splenda. If I don’t drink coffee, I won’t need splenda. However, most people who know me, know I am overly addicted to Crystal Light. Completely addicted. This will be sad and hard to give up. It just makes water so much more fun! Of course, there is artificial sweetener in other products too, like DDP!

Alcohol  Goodbye wine, beer and liquor.

Will I ever have these things again? Yes! I just hate that these things have become the “norm” for me. I want it to be where I only partake every once in awhile and definitely not at all during the week. I hope this is a year to becoming even healthier, all in hopes of prepping my body for carrying our baby(ies) when the time is right. This has been on my heart for awhile, and it’s time I make the change!

I’ve made one other change already, but I’ll leave that for another post! Cheers (with my water glass) to a healthier 2013!

Great lifestyle changes. Ive made all these changes in the last few months too. Honestly, the only thing I miss is my glass of red wine. Happy 2013!

These all sound like reasonable changes. Good luck!

I feel ya… 9 days into my new diet coke free life. I use to drink 5+ a day years ago… Thankfully, it’s been 1-2 lately, but still. It’s going to be tough!

Good for you!!! I have done the same. My addiction is coke zero, and my caffiene-withdrawal is giving me terrible headaches – can I just have ONE a day? lol!
