3 Year Friendiversary

Have you ever had an encounter with someone out in public (and in a different state) and you ended up connecting over a 5 minute conversation, exchanging numbers and becoming fast friends? It probably doesn’t happen too often, right? I just love how God creates the most amazing divine appointments! I shared about the encounter I had last month, but today I am sharing about one that happened three years ago. I usually don’t celebrate friendship anniversaries, but I just love how God wrote this story and I believe it’s important to keep sharing.

Three years ago yesterday (June 13, 2013) a girl at the Kansas City airport approached me and asked to pray for me. Well our conversation didn’t just stop at that prayer. After her prayer, we learned we both lived within miles of each other in Dallas. The following week, after we both returned from our weekends in Kansas, we met for a walk and the rest of our story really is history. She is now one of my dearest friends. I got to journey with her during her pregnancy and she has been a solid friend and prayer warrior to us while we have waited for our babies.

I am so thankful my friend Melanie obeyed the Spirit’s prompting to pray over me that day. All because Melanie approached me at the airport a new friendship has been formed, Colby and I have become members at a new church, and our relationships with the Lord have grown in ways we didn’t even know were possible.

We had the opportunity to be in a video, which is below, to share our testimony of our friendship. This was created almost two years ago, but I wanted to share it today in celebration of what the Lord has done. I hope this video reminds you that it’s always worth going out of your comfort zone when you feel led to do so. God will reward your step of faith and act of obedience way more than you could ask or imagine.

I’m in tears…such a beautiful story! You are so lucky to have such great friendships, Caroline! I often times feel alone, since I don’t have any friends in our new city, but I have my husband who is my best friend. I love this and I’m wishing you two many more years of friendship!

I love how God brings people together. So often we forget to find God’s hand in our friendships. I have several friends that began only because God orchestrated them. What a beautiful blessing God gave you!

Wow! It is inspiring that Megan was bold enough to follow the LORD’s prompting in the airport that day. And a testament that she truly hears from the LORD! And it is beautiful that you are celebrating your friendship anniversary!
My prayer is that you have many more!

What a great story! I love the way God leads us to new people who are supposed to be important to us. I actually met my husband on a plane. So I suppose he was my ‘airport angel’ 🙂
