Baby Shower Quadrathlon

I had the blessing of hosting 3 baby showers and attending 1 baby shower over the past four weekends. It was so much fun celebrating all the life that the Lord has created. My sister-in-law pointed out that this season is exactly like my wedding season. Weddings ALL around me, time after time I was a bridesmaid while I remained single. I love that this season is the same, I feel like the Lord is just encouraging me in the fact that I have a ridiculously large amount of friends who are pregnant right now. It’s just one more way He is blessing me and reminding me that our time is coming soon! It’s such a blessing to celebrate each of these lives that the Lord is bringing into this world. I get the question all the time, ”Isn’t it really hard to be around babies all the time”? No. There is the 2% where the enemy feeds me lies and attacks me, but I’ve learned how to rebuke those thoughts. 98% of the time it has been a joy and an honor. Who doesn’t love a fun party with good food and great friends?! I’m desiring to be a mom so of course I want to celebrate those who are or about to be as well! God has been so faithful to bring so much life everywhere I go! And, as much as I desire the same for Colby and I, we both know God has the perfect timing and children for us. So while we wait it has been such a joy to walk with and celebrate all of these girls. Just this week, three more friends told me they were pregnant. No one can deny that He is doing big things! Praise Him!

Ashley

The first shower was for my sweet friend Ashley who I met in college. She is due in January with a girl, name TBD. It was a bittersweet time, because the week after this shower, she and her husband moved up to D.C. I’ll miss our monthly girls hangouts and Dallas won’t be the same without them, but excited for the journey the Lord has them on.

Bunting – You will notice I did this for 3 of the showers. This is as crafty as I get.

Kristin and Emma Jane

The second shower was for my friend Kristin, who I met through Melanie. She is due in just a few weeks with a baby girl, Emma Jane! I knew I liked her right away when I found out she has my dream job, a nutritional counselor. She is going to be a great momma to her baby girl.

Melanie and Preston

The third weekend I got to celebrate Melanie (airport angel) and her sweet baby boy Preston, due on Christmas day. Crazy that when we met, she was 2ish months pregnant and now she is just 1.5 months away from meeting her boy. Also crazy is how much our friendship has grown in the short time we have known each other.

Lauren and Mae

Lastly, I had the honor of hosting my best friend/Matron of Honor’s shower. Lauren and I lived together for all 4 years of college and 2 years after college. She is due with her baby girl, Mae, just 5 days before Ashley, (first shower) and it’s been fun to see these girls pregnant together.

Caroline, It looks like you throw quite a party. Everything looked so beautiful – cute idea for the names on the cookies and the decorations on the fireplace. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a baby shower. Your heart is a shining example of what it means to serve and love. Your time is coming, friend.

The showers were beautiful! What a blessing for these children to be born into families with mamas who love The Lord. We need more strong Christians on this earth- I can’t believe how depraved our society is becoming. (Ry was watching SNL, I caught Lady GAGA’s performance- which actually shocked me that it was allowed on tv (and I’m NOT easily shocked), and a skit where they made fun of Jesus- which made me mad) Anyway, someone needs to share the love of Jesus with the lost people that need Him so badly. Our children are next in line! Caroline, your child must have a very important role to play, as God clearly has a very specific time that he or she must be born. It’s all very interesting! Can’t wait to see how it plays out! Xoxo
