02 Oct Beth Moore Conference
I mentioned in my last post that Colby and I had planned to go up to Tulsa to see my friends new baby, and spend time with my brother and his family, but when my sister-in-law was offered tickets last minute to a Beth Moore conference we decided to squeeze that into the schedule too.
I have never seen or heard Beth Moore live. If you aren’t familiar with who she is, she is an author, speaker, and has a strong presence leading women all over the world through her bible studies.
The Beth Moore conference this past weekend had 6 main topics all from Exodus 15 regarding the life of Miriam, who was the sister of Moses and Aaron.
1 – When God says ‘Go Forward’ don’t even think about standing still. When we feel like God has called us to do something, we must obey Him. If you feel like you followed His lead, but don’t know where He went, He is probably behind you to push you forward. It’s interesting as Beth also said if we only understood how mighty our God was, we would know the enemy could not prevail. This also came up on my Hebrews Wednesday night bible study last week and it really spoke to me. We have nothing to fear, because our Lord has overcome! This is good stuff and very convicting to me.
2 – Nobody appreciates deliverance like those who have been nearly destroyed. Most of us can say we have been close to complete destruction. It might have been or could currently be our health, spirit, morals, etc. But, despite what we are going through we are called to trust God when we are in the midst of a fight. Our God is closer and mightier than we even have the capacity to imagine. When we are at our most vulnerable point is when God fights the most for us.
3 – When faith takes a journey it packs a tambourine. In Exodus 15:20 Miriam sang praises with her tambourine. This was one of the main topics of the weekend and Beth Moore was up there in full force with her tambourine! Do we have enough faith when we are on a journey to pack a tambourine? Are we able to trust and praise the Lord even when we might not know the outcome?
4 – The fulfillment of our life purpose can be abbreviated or derailed by our mouths. What is your mouth costing you? I have posted about the power of the tongue before. Sometimes I don’t think we realize how powerful are words can be.
5 – Nothing mars the appearance of a woman like her clawing for control. We are never less attractive to people then when we are clawing for control. We as women need to stop looking at others’ gifts and realize that God has blessed us with our own gifts. It’s during times that we don’t embrace our own God given gifts that we look to others.
6- We are anointed and gifted women of God called to embrace our own place. We all have a purpose, ask God what yours is and use it to further His kingdom.
At the end of the conference Beth went into the audience of 7,700 people and asked the ladies to share their tambourine moments. Lots of stories of bad health, rape, divorce, domestic violence, etc but all these ladies grew closer to the Lord and stronger in their faith because of them. So, what is your tambourine moment? Can you look back on a trial or journey the Lord has taken you and find that through the trial you were able to praise Him more? Are you able to carry a tambourine during the storm? How would you fill in this blank?
I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; He _______________________
It was a great weekend! Lots of time with my family, sweet snuggles with my friends’ newborn and an awesome time at the conference. Praising the Lord for all that He has blessed me with.

Posted at 07:20h, 02 OctoberI love Beth Moore! She is seriously one of my all time favorite Bible study writers. Some of her studies are amazing for women. I saw her earlier this year in my town and her message and Scripture basis were totally different. I love that about her…each Living Proof Live event is completely different based on where the Spirit leads her. Thanks for sharing what you learned!!

Posted at 07:33h, 02 OctoberSounded like that would have been an awesome conference, the things you’ve written ring so true to me, especially the thing about the power of the tongue and not standing still when God says move! Awesome!

Posted at 08:17h, 02 OctoberI am so glad to hear about your Beth Moore experience. I am doing one of her Bible studies for the very first time and have mixed feelings about the material/presentation. It’s important for me to remember that, just because I’m not 100% on board, God is using her and her ministry to touch women’s lives. Sounds like she had some great points that really resonated with you. Glad you had a great time!!
I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; He has strengthened my marriage and lead me to love my husband in a way that honors Him.

Posted at 09:34h, 02 OctoberI love Beth Moore! We did a study of hers on Esther over the summer. Beth is truly inspiring. Right now #2 and #3 apply for sure while waiting for my beta to hopefully go up 🙂 It’s tough but I know it’s in God’s control, not mine.

Posted at 11:00h, 02 OctoberWow how convicting. Beth Moore surely is anointed to share the word of God. I am moved and I was not there. That bit about being controlling and worrying about others is something we discussed in our small group last night. I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; He has brought my marriage this far and opened my eyes to see the true beauty that exist there. He has brought me far from mental illness and illuminated the way when I was lost in the dark, more than anything he has given me hope in his promises that help me to move forward with life everyday.

Love this. It really hits home. I need to remember to carry my tambourine and ring it loud. I feel like Im really struggling some days and this is the perfect message to start today and give me a brighter out look.
