Blessings Behind Blogging - In Due Time Blog

Blessings Behind Blogging

If you are a new visitor, you might not know that this blog was started in 2012 after a nudge from the Lord to start writing. It was just one week into our journey of infertility. “Me, a blog?”, I thought. “Ha.” Why would this seem funny or ironic? Well, I’m a financial analyst. I crunch numbers. Let’s just say I NEVER excelled at writing/English (as I’m sure most have picked up on this by my lack of grammar skills).

There is so much more to this space than words on the internet. My heart, as shared repeatedly before, is that hope would be increased, faith would be renewed, and others would be encouraged to seek Jesus while going through a trial or waiting on Him to answer their prayers. This blog has become my ministry. But, there is something else that I have been so blessed with over the past 3.5 years of blogging and that is building relationships with others.  I have ‘met’ so many people because of this blog. Some of those relationships have become those that are nearest and dearest to my heart. What I thought was a prompting from the Lord – bringing me way out of my comfort zone – has also turned into many blessings, including newly-formed friendships

As said with my vulnerability post, I don’t do well with one-way relationships. My desire is to get to know you, the reader. I don’t expect to become bff with everyone, but I want to get to know you just as much as you know me. That will look different for each person, but my heart isn’t just to type, rather my heart is to build a relationship.

The only way relationships happen are when we are vulnerable with each other. If you are following along on our journey, I also want you to know that I truly do care about you and your journey too. Please don’t hesitate to say hello and if you have been following awhile thanks again for dedicating time to us and our story!

I actually find it easier to be vulnerable in a blog post than face to face. I think the act of writing out what’s on my heart, as well as the screen between myself and the reader, helps. 🙂

Caroline, I just love your heart! And personally, I think you’re an amazing writer. How you explain scripture is amazing to me. I have a hard enough time trying to figure out what scripture is saying without then having to put it into words that will help another person understand, loll. So happy I have “met” you through this journey, my Friend!

I am so happy to “know” you through blogging! I agree – there are so many blessings in blogging. It can be hard to be so vulnerable, but I am thankful that I decided to do it myself because I had made so many awesome relationships over the years. I hope to meet you in real life someday!

    Amen!!!

I’m amazed by the friendships formed through blogging. I have some godly and dear friends through blogging. AND I just have to say that I so very much appreciate you! I have a post written in my head about friendships and how people have commented on my blog and have prayed for me during my time here and you are one of the first people that comes to my mind! I know we don’t e-mail a lot but you are always consistent to comment on my blog and I appreciate the fact that you take the time to do that and to read about what we are doing in Myanmar. So thanks for being a good on-line friend and I really do hope I can meet you in the US sometime.

I’m glad God has blessed you with friendships by blogging! God is fun!

Hi Caroline, I really love reading your posts, and love getting the response in emails. If I could possibly make one some change it would be for you to have replies on your blog, so we can comment chains… more a conversation… Just a thought next time you’re working on the technical side of blogging. Can’t wait to see what you write next 😉

Hi Melanie! I’ve been visiting your blog for the past couple weeks now. It’s been wonderful getting to know you! I started blogging just this year, but I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. When it was suggested that I begin a blog, I was also resistant. But like you, I’ve found it to be a great blessing. I’ve met other women who are in situations similar to mine and it’s been wonderful. I’ve definitely felt less alone. It’s been wonderful getting to know you and I look forward to continuing.

I love engaging with and getting to know other bloggers. That’s my favorite part of blogging. I have an easier time writing things down vs sharing in person so being vulnerable is actually easier for me on my blog. So glad I’ve gotten to know you Caroline!

We form relationships when we don’t even realize it. By reading your blog, I have gotten to know who you are and what you care about. Most importantly, I know that you are my sister in Christ.

I love this post so much. Although by professional I am a writer, it was God who nudged me to start my blog as well. Through health ailments and now going on two years TTC, it is as healing to me as it is to those I set out to write it for. Thank you for sharing your heart & I hope I can get to know you better by spending more time on In Due Time.

At nearly 50, I’m on the other end of this spectrum in conversation. After 4+ years of infertility testing and treatment, we went on to have two babies in as many years. They’re both in college now….and I feel blessed beyond measure to have had the privilege of these murackes. However, during the four years we spent having the most intimiate part of our lives literally held under a microscope, I questioned everything from my own self worth, to the validity of my marriage. The verse that kept me sabe, during this time was Ps 30:11: “Thou hast changed my mourning into dancing”. It’s a verse I would cling to, knowing that God wouldn’t have put this so fully on my heart if it wasn’t near to be.

It’s also I verse I came back to when my father, and much desired third child, died within s week of each other, as well as during my battles with cancer. God creates a strength within us that we will only see the reasons for in the years to come. While we yet mourn, we can look ahead to the dance.

I have only started reading your blog in the past few months… through link-parties and blog groups. I love to read your posts so far and agree that relationships are one of the most important parts of blogging. If we wanted to type without answer we could start a personal diary! The best part of blogging is meeting new people and making new friends. Can’t wait to follow along! Thanks for linking up with us at Welcome Home Wednesdays! Can’t wait to see you back next week!
