Blue Sock Moments – Part 4

The Lord has been blessing us with Blue Sock Moments for a long time now. While most of them are dreams, visions, and prophetic words, every once in awhile the Lord likes to give us a tangible gift – sweet reminders that He is doing everything in the spiritual realm to bring our babies.

If you haven’t read our other blue sock moments you can read about our blue sock, pink shoes, and devotional. This post will make much more sense if you read those first.

While we were out on vacation we stopped our mail. When we returned, we were sorting through it (by it I mean all the junk) and came across this magazine titled “Parents”. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then as I looked at the address I realized it was addressed in my name and had a subscription date that ends September 2016. This wasn’t a mistake, but this magazine was given to me and not once, but every month for 24 months!

What a sweet God-incidence. I love that He constantly reminds us of what our future holds. I will be holding on to every copy. As we have for 2.5 years, we will continue to believe that our babies are coming soon! I can’t wait to browse through these magazines when our time comes!

I always love when you share these moments! It is so wonderful to remember to see God working in every single part of our lives- even things that at some moments we might want to think are just “coincidences”. With the Lord there are never any coincidences and I love that you share these!!

I love your perspective on things like this. Whenever I got errant baby stuff in the mail or whatever, it would normally make me cry and/or punch stuff. I think your way is healthier. 🙂 Love you, friend!!

I agree. When I get baby stuff in the mail, I inwardly curse those jerks and toss it in the trash. Love that you choose to see hope in the day to day.

I so wish I could sit down and have a conversation with you and Elisha! You both have helped me come so far in my faith and trust in God since I’ve found your blogs. I feel like I could learn so, so much more from you both. So happy you’ve had another “blue sock moment”. What beautiful gifts God has been leaving for you! 🙂

I love that…God-incidence. This is funny because I typed out a whole post on the difference between the current idea of “fate” and the spiritual truth of “purpose”. I didn’t post it because I saw repetition of the word “circumstance” so much throughout the post and it just was not the right word. You have given me the right word 🙂 So a toast with an invisible glass..To God’s timing and revelations!

This made me so happy on the inside! I literally felt something jump in me {and no, I’m NOT pregnant – YIKES}! haha anyways, if someone wants to throw a ring in the mailbox, well, you got my address…hahahaha 😉 glad you enjoyed your trip! By the way, I’m going to a baby shower tomorrow for my friend who received the prophecy of two babies – a boy and a girl about 5.5 years ago – and by the way, it doesn’t even feel that long looking back! So tomorrow we will be celebrating the arrival of her baby girl sometime in November. I couldn’t help but think of you this week as I shopped for her and planned my weekend – I remember that was one of my first comments to you and that’s bascially how we met and the rest is history. That devil is such a liar!!! I love how we’re blessed for waiting on the Lord – He is faithful, even if He doesn’t answer our prayers EXACTLY the way we want Him to. Have a wonderful weekend!

This is so great! And I love your term “blue sock moments”. There’s a blog I’ve been following for years (, and she does what she calls a “Memorial Box”. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard about the idea, but it’s pretty much just like “blue sock moments”. If you get a chance I think it’s worth hopping over to her site and reading about it, it sounds like you’d have a lot of things to put into your Memorial Box already! I have a Memorial Box myself and am in the process of writing more posts just like these “blue sock moments” that point to God’s faithfullness! i’m excited to read through all your little moments 🙂
