Mini Getaway to Muenster, Texas
Colby and I went on a very mini getaway last Thursday. We drove a little over an hour north of where we live to a small town called Muenster. If you are familiar with the Dallas area, Muenster is just north of Denton. Neither of us had ever been to the area before, which is mainly known for a big Oktoberfest they host in April, however we were ready to get out of town to a quieter part of the state.
We stayed at a bed and breakfast called Elm Creek Manor, which was the cutest place. The Inn is on 800 acres of land and is farm-to-table. The owners raise all of their own animals and food, including making their own declicious cheeses.
After the owner showed us around, they provided a social hour with their delicious cheeses and yummy wines, which were all so fabulous. Colby and I made our way towards town where we found dinner and returned to the bed and breakfast where we rented a DVD from their library. The next morning, the most delicious breakfast was delivered to our room which was all fresh from their land. Amazing!
After checking out of our room, we walked around the property and then drove over to a lake where we went on a short hike there, before making the drive home. It was a short getaway, just 24 hours, but Elm Creek made it so fabulous, relaxing and peaceful!
