16 Oct Sunshine and Liebster Award

I have been nominated for the Sunshine Award by three of my sweet blog friends and the Liebster Award (you can check out my answers here for the Liebster award from last year). I thought I would go ahead and fill out all of the questions that the girls asked so you can get to know a little bit more about me! The rules are to fill out the questions then nominate 10 new bloggers (see below). I had a hard time narrowing it down to 10, but tried to pick those girls who hadn’t been nominated yet (that I remember at least), who have brought sunshine to my day, and who blog on a regular/weekly basis. Most of these girls I have gotten to know on a much more personal basis via email, facebook and instagram. One of my favorite parts about blogging isn’t just reading or commenting, but engaging and building friendships. Thankful for each one of my blog friends and readers!

(1) What is a dream that you hope will come true for your life?
Having lots of babies 🙂

(2) Do you have a nickname? If so, what is the story behind it?
My friends in high school called me Carokip for reasons that are just too much to explain on here! Also, Slockey (based on my maiden name)

(3)If you had to change your first name what would you change it to?
Oh I always wanted to change my name, but never thought about what I would pick

(4) What is the strangest thing that you believed when you were a child?
I remember thinking that whoevers birthday fell first in the year meant that the person was the oldest. Which in my family, would have been me 🙂

(5) What is the most recent compliment that you have received and treasured? Why?
People tell me a lot that I am disciplined, I guess I will take that as a compliment and give God the glory for making me that way

(6) What do you think about more than anything else?
Food! ha

(7) Where is your favorite place to go in your hometown?
Wherever my family and friends are

(8) What is your favorite word?
This is a hard question – I have no idea? Colby did point out whenever I’m about to end a phone conversation I always say ‘Alrighty’ and it now drives me crazy.

(9) Who is your hero and why?
Can I say Colby? He gives me glimpses of Christs love for me every day

(10) What has been the most terrifying moment in your life and why?
I was in California when I was younger and my cousin and I snuck out of his house to go toilet papering. A man came out holding a gun and started yelling at us and I’ve never ran so fast in my life. I’m pretty sure I was so scared that I woke up my parents to tell them. Kinda lame story, but at the time was a big deal.

New Zealand, such a beautiful place and it was with Colby

1) What is one place you want to visit before you die?
South America!

2) What is your favorite place that you have traveled so far?
New Zealand, Croatia, and Slovenia

3) If you could redo your career path what would you do different, or are you happy with what you do now?
I’m happy, but my dream job would be nutritional counseling and fitness instructor

4) Who is you favorite person or people to confide your innermost secrets in?
Colby

5) If infertility weren’t an issue and finances are taken out of it how many kids would you have?
3 or 4! Standing in faith and believing for it!

6) Do you have any pets? What are their names?
No! I’m one of those crazy people who has NEVER had a pet (unless you count fish and hamsters). I’m holding out, but I’m sure I will break down when our kids are to the age where they beg us every day for a dog,

7) Its your last meal! What are you having?
Salad with lots of veggies and chicken.

8) If you were a candy bar what kind of candy bar would you be?
Snickers (boo that I don’t eat candy, this is a tease)

9) Whats your one makeup item that you cant leave the house without putting on first?
I break this rule all the time – I’ll got lots of places without makeup, but always love chap stick and mascara

10) Where is your favorite place to shop?
Target and Ross/TJ Maxx

11) What is your most favorite photograph of?
All the ones from our vacations

1. Do you prefer the beach or the lake?
Beach

2. Favorite sitcom, new or old?
We don’t watch TV now, but I grew up loving Dawson’s Creek

3. Do you watch sports on TV? Favorite Team?
Yes yes yes!!! LOVE football. Follow the Cowboys, Broncos, the Big 12 and Top 25 teams. Also enjoy watching the Rangers and the Mavs

4. How many kids do you wish you had?
3-4

5. What has been your favorite age up to this point?
Tough one! I would probably say now!

6. Which candy is your most favorite?
I haven’t had candy in forever, but I would probably go with Swedish fish

7. If you use bath and body works products which fragrance do you love?
Haven’t stepped into that store for years. I think I used to use Candy Apple (I hope I didn’t make that name up)

8. How long have you been married?
2.5 years and one week, but who is counting?

9. If you could change one thing about your life what would it be?
No, the Lord made me who I am – I try to embrace it with no regrets. Sure wish I hadn’t made so many bad decisions, but that is where God’s grace covers me!

10. What DIY project would you like to do?
Too many! I am not good at anything crafty, but if I could pick one thing maybe I would make one of those cute wreathes for our front door.

1. What’s your favorite TV show of all time?
Dawson’s Creek in the old days. Love watching 48 Hour Mysteries and Shark Tank now. We don’t have cable, so we don’t want too much TV.

2. What is your dream vacation?
Hmm, probably was New Zealand, but I’ll say Fiji or some exotic island

3. Is there anything that you would change about yourself?
No, the Lord made me who I am – I try to embrace it with no regrets. Sure wish I hadn’t made so many bad decisions, but that is where God’s grace covers me!

4. What is your idea of a fun/perfect night? Do you like to go out or stay in?
Stay in with my husband or friends. Enjoy good food, good music and good conversation.

5. What is your favorite book, series, or author that you have ever read?
All Nicolas Sparks books. Joyce Meyer – Battlefield of the Mind

6. If you could go back in time and change your career path, would you?
I enjoy what I do, but my dream job would be nutritional counseling and fitness instructor

7. If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Colorado – Would love to be able to enjoy the beauty God created there

8. What are your favorite hobbies? What are you good at?
I’m not sure if I have any hobbies so I’ll stick with traveling and working out.

9. What is your dream car?
I don’t think I have one. Anything practical!

10. What kind of activities are currently on your “bucket list”?
I’m failing at these questions. Don’t have one either.
