Two Exciting Things!

I’ve felt a little out of the blogging world lately, as this flu has been lingering and not given me much motivation to do anything! But, I have two exciting things….

Exciting thing #1 – C.J. and I went to the library this past weekend (nerd alert) and I wasn’t really searching for books on infertility, but happened to came across a book that covers Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I’ve really enjoyed reading it and the theories back up a lot of what has been on our hearts. The TCM method completely takes the all-natural, holistic approach to fixing the problems of our bodies, instead of just masking them with medicine. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against medicine, IUI, IVF or any other treatments, but I feel like there is a reason we have irregular hormone levels and want to seek out solving the cause. All to say, today I made an appointment for both of us to go the doctor. The clinic we are going to specializes in reproductive acupuncture, nutritional counseling, and uses the TCM approach. Our appointment is a week from today!

Exciting thing #2 – I was reading Jessah’s blog and was so excited for her when I saw she was one of about 30 who were nominated for Top Infertility Blogs of 2012. When I clicked on the link, I realized our blog was nominated too! I was very surprised and feel very honored to be a part of such a great group of bloggers. I’m looking forward to reading the other nominated blogs too!

Congrats on your award! I hope you enjoy your appointment! I go to my Chinese medicine practitioner for acupuncture every week. She has not cured me, nor did I expect her too, but it is super relaxing! Enjoy!

I like hearing about alternative treatments! My GP left his practice, so I’m spending my limbo time trying to decide which of two naturopaths in my town would be better. I think it’s good to keep an open mind about alt treatments, for sure – it at least brings your focus to your body as a whole. I’m interested to read how your appointment goes!

You totally deserve the award and so glad that you saw you were on the list. My acupuncturist gave me that book and I haven’t really read it. But you’ve inspired me to pull it off the shelf and take a closer look.
