25 Sep Women of Faith
If you missed my post on Friday, I went to the Women of Faith conference this past weekend with a few friends (see pictures below). It was just as ridiculously amazing as I thought it would be. This was my first time to attend a Women of Faith conference or any Christian conference and the experience was nothing short of amazing. There is nothing like 12,000 broken and sinful women in the same room all for one purpose: to worship our God.
The theme couldn’t have been more perfect. It was over the verse we have clung to in this journey – Nothing is impossible with God – Luke 1:37. Kari Jobe, the Gateway (an amazing church here in Dallas) Worship team, and Mercy Me all played. Kari Jobe sang my favorite song Healer. Mercy Me also played the Hurt and Healer song I posted a few months ago. There was hours full or worship and again, nothing more amazing than hearing 12,000 believers singing praises. I didn’t want it to stop. I’m very passionate about singing praises to God and it’s so much more fun when you are in a room full of people doing the same thing! I just can imagine the huge smile it brings to the Lords face 🙂
All the speakers were so good and I have to say, hilarious too! Lots of laughter this weekend and we know that laughter is good medicine for the soul – Proverbs 17:22. There were so many amazing words spoken from people like Christine Caine, Priscilla Shirer and others.
The amazing thing about the whole weekend was that the speakers talked about what Colby and I are praying for – the everyday miracles that God still does. They spoke about waiting and suffering and all the topics I’m passionate about, am enduring now, love to study about, and love to blog about. God’s sovereignty is so amazing as He knew I would be at this conference and out of every theme He chose for me to attend the one called, ‘Believe – Nothing is impossible with God.’ I tell you, He spoils me! I tried to take notes and though it can’t take place of the speakers, here are a few takeaways.
God doesn’t turn up until it’s impossible. He shows up when there is nothing else we can do on our own, but trust and seek Him. He shows up when we finally decide to give Him control. Remember how I had been charting and tracking and doing everything else you are supposed to do, besides seeking treatments, to get pregnant? And then, we decided to take a break. We took that break because we finally (what took us so long) realized God doesn’t need our help. We maxed out all we could and in my eyes our situation seems impossible without God. There is NOTHING going for us, besides that we have a God who heals and who desires us to have children!!! We have done everything in the natural, and now the only thing we can do is let the supernatural bring us this baby.
You are more than you know. God has big plans for you. You are His. He holds you in the palm of His hands. It doesn’t matter how broken you are, how far you have strayed, what sin you committed last night, or how you grew up. You are more than you know and He has a specific purpose for You. Seek Him and embrace it. Christine Cain told how us her testimony about being left at the hospital the day she was born. She still doesn’t know her birth parents – and look at where God has her now – all because she obeyed! Side note: If you have never listened to her, I highly encourage you to search her stuff on google.
Don’t just praise Him for what He does, but praise Him for who He is. We don’t just give praise to God when we are out of our trial, but while we endure it as well. I don’t want our future children to only tell us “I Love You” when we give them a gift, I know I will want to hear that every day, despite what they have been given that day or not. The Lord wants the same thing from us.
He uses our past to give someone else a future. Every story matters. He doesn’t waste our trials. He intends for us to share other testimony with others. I know this is extremely true for us as the Lord is calling me to do something more with our journey. I’m not sure what that something more is, but I know our story won’t end when we are pregnant. We are trusting the Lord that He is going to use us to continue to share with others.
God puts us in the best place we can be in so He can position us for what He has for us. No day is ever wasted when we seek Him. He turns every moment into a teachable experience and places us right at the perfect place at the perfect time so He can bless us. While we pray for one thing, God does 10,000 things to make them happen.
His power isn’t just seen in what he does do, but also what he doesn’t do. I don’t know about you, but I’m glad doesn’t answer every one of my prayers. I praise Him that the reason He doesn’t answer every one is because He has something better in store for me.
Lastly, I got to attend with these 3 gorgeous ladies. Remember the sweet stranger who prayed over me? Well she has become a good friend and is the one who had the tickets and invited me. I was also able to invite my sweet airport angel and one of my best friends! Please disregard the mascara from the weepy eyes and the blue lips from the sub-zero temperatures.
All Four of Us 🙂 Thankful for these ladies.
My friends think it’s hysterical that I own one of these. I think it’s genius. It’s always best to bust it out in large crowds where you know you will get lots of weird looks! Highly recommended for traveling!

One of my besties!
If you are from Dallas, you will recognize this. I’m not sure why, but they have these letters throughout the city. Maybe because ‘Dallas is Big’? Well we finally got our chance to be the “I”

Posted at 07:54h, 25 SeptemberSo cool Caroline! My favorite is this: “Don’t just praise Him for what He does, but praise Him for who He is”… so good and exactly what I’ve been focused on lately! It sounds like a great conference with some really special ladies! Glad you had a good time!

Posted at 08:16h, 25 SeptemberThat conference sounds awesome! 12,000 of you my goodness and Kari Jobe singing – very spoilt! Some really great things sound like it came out of it. Resonating to me very loudly too and opening up a lot of questions on the other side.

“He uses our past to give someone else a future.” This idea has been bouncing around in my mind for a few weeks now. Might be time to explore it more!

Posted at 13:13h, 25 SeptemberSounds like an amazing conference! So glad you were able to go. I’m signed up for my 1st Women of Faith conference next month and I can’t wait. I wonder if our topic will be the same as the one you heard, or if all the locations have different themes?
