25 Feb Colorado Ski Date
Colby and I got back last week from a 5 day date to Beaver Creek/Vail! We were so graciously given an opportunity to stay for free in a fancy ski-in/ski-out condo and we immediately said yes. Only by the Lord’s favor did this trip happen! There are no words to explain how spoiled we felt and it’s only Jesus that could make it such a special trip!
Colby had never skied before and lucky for him, I was his instructor. He started off slow, understandably, but was doing well by the end! We happened to be there the same time as the World Championships, so we got to enjoy watching the pros live in person. In addition, they also had a lot of fun events going on around the two towns!
Besides the cold weather and the blizzard skiing conditions, we had a blast! While we wish we weren’t traveling and we had a house full of babies instead, we are grateful for all the opportunities the Lord has given us to have such fun vacations along the way!
We are always planning adventures and not sure where we will go next, but I think somewhere above 70 degrees might be a requirement. We would love to hear ideas from any of you!

Posted at 07:53h, 25 FebruaryWhat a fun trip! I’m not a snow fan but would love to go to Colorado sometime and ski. As far as warm weather, I’m thinking you might need to go to the Caribbean, it doesn’t seem like there are too many places that are warm in the states right now!

Posted at 08:20h, 25 FebruaryI’m glad you got to go and ski but I’m not gonna lie, THAT LOOKS SO COLD!!!
I definitely know of a place to travel above 70 and that would be Myanmar and Thailand! Come on over! You would love it.
State side – have you visited Pensacola? It’s a charming town with white sandy beaches.

Posted at 08:35h, 25 Februaryyou always, always look SO cute!!!! I love all the adventures you go on! I get to at least live vicariously through them! South Carolina is my FAVORITE! or northern Michigan in the summer! Nothing that appealing right now though!

Posted at 11:19h, 25 FebruaryThat is so neat! I have never skied before (Hunter has) so it’s on my bucket list to do. I think your next adventure should be to Florida 😉

Posted at 15:11h, 25 FebruaryWhat an awesome trip! We love the Vail area. When we were cycling at CCRM, hubby and I made our way over there a few times. Your pictures are beautiful.

Posted at 17:30h, 25 FebruaryWhat a beautiful place! So happy and grateful you were able to do this. I love your and Colby’s zest for life…the way you keep living and venturing and exploring and pursuing all of the good things God has for you during this season of waiting. Your enthusiasm, in spite of your pain, is so inspiring and such a shining light for others going through similar heartbreak. God bless you, sweet friend. 🙂

Posted at 23:54h, 25 FebruarySo glad you guys had fun in wonderful Colorado (im biased I know haha). Good for Colby to pick up skiing that quick. I’m a born and raised Colorado native and STILL don’t ski (crazy I know). As for the warm weather- time for a cruise! 🙂

Posted at 09:54h, 26 FebruaryThat looks like a ton of fun. Gorgeous photos. I’m so glad you were a good ski instructor, Caroline. My first experience skiing was going with my boyfriend in high school. He promised to help me; after going up the lift upon getting there (he said I didn’t need lessons, he would teach me), I fell getting off. They had to stop it and wait for me to figure out how to stand up. He stayed with me about 10 minutes after that and then left me somewhere near the top of the hill for the rest of the day.
Little did he know I planned on marrying him before that trip, but he was revealing characters to me that I did not want in a husband.
I think someplace tropical would be a great next trip. No chance of blizzards there. 🙂

Posted at 14:04h, 26 FebruaryI just can’t get over how blessed you are with your trips! You are such a traveler. And while I would like to say it looked like fun…I am terrified of skiing. I have been only twice in my life and both times was tragic and I’m still wondering how I came away with no broken bones. I will never forget the first time tumbling down the entire hill and knocking out the “slow” caution signs as well as taking out two ladies. I hit them so hard their poles went flying in the air. The second time I went, I didn’t notice the turn to take for the “beginner” slope and took the “experienced” slope down. Let’s just say me and the pole (which luckily was wrapped in padding) became one that night. I also lost my poles as they went flying down a cliff/hill area when I hit the pole. I can’t remember exactly how I got down the slope after that but I think I slid on my butt 😉 Soooooo…..needless to say, I don’t like skiing but soo glad you do 🙂 hehehe! Love ya twiny! xo

Posted at 17:06h, 26 FebruaryYou look like you had a blast! My husband and I were supposed to go to Colorado for our anniversary a couple of years ago, but I got pregnant with Conner and Benjamin AND Colorado flooded that year so we canceled the trip. Now you have me wanting to rebook it! And thank you for the sweet card you sent – it is going in Jordan’s memory box 🙂

Posted at 10:21h, 27 FebruaryI honestly almost couldn’t read this post because I’m so jealous! Our mountains are bare so I have yet to ski this season. Looks like you guys had a great time.

Posted at 23:29h, 27 FebruaryI’m glad you both had a good trip. I love how you pointed it right back to Jesus and gave him thanks for your opportunity to go on such a fun place (and for free!). I’ve never been skiing, but I hope to go sometime!

Posted at 16:12h, 02 MarchWhat fun! I love your pictures. The scenery looks beautiful. Definitely looks like it was cold, though. I love the shot with the frost on your neck-ups.
I wish we both had a house full of babies and weren’t traveling! Since that isn’t the case, want to go with us on our cruise in 3 weeks?! It will be warm. 😉
