25 Nov Florida Trip Recap
A few weeks ago Colby and I took a trip to Florida. It was the perfect getaway!
We had a hard time deciding where to go, but life has been so busy that we knew we wanted somewhere we could relax and of course, somewhere warm! We went to Sanibel Island a few years ago and rented a condo and loved it so we were eyeing somewhere in Florida again. This time, instead of flying into Fort Meyers, we flew into Tampa.
We flew out super early on a Thursday morning. I think we left our house at 4 am, but the nice thing was we were in Florida at 9 am. In my opinion, it makes the early morning flights worth it to have the whole day at the destination.
Once we arrived, we got our car rental and groceries and then headed towards Indian Beach where our AirBnB was. We literally rented it the night before. I was thinking it was in Clearwater, but turns out we were just a few miles south in Indian Beach.
The Airbnb we rented was amazing. The best part was it was just a 60 second walk to the beach and it had bikes, chairs, umbrellas, and a kayak! Those things truly made all the difference since we didn’t have anything with us.
After getting settled in, we of course went straight to the beach! In fact, that is what we did all 5 days! In addition to relaxing and reading at the beach, we kayaked twice, rode bikes twice and went on a few beach walks/runs.
We saw dolphins every day, which was so fun! We also attempted to go to a local festival, but it was so packed, we didn’t last very long.
On our last day we went to Clearwater Beach and personally, we were thankful we were at Indian Beach most of the trip. It was so quiet and so much less touristy than Clearwater. If you like loud and lot of people, Clearwater is the way to go, but if you are looking to relax in peace and quiet, I highly recommend Indian Beach. Below are a lot of pictures, a few items we had with us as well as prior trip recaps.
