01 Oct Hilton Head Double Date
Colby and I got back last night from Hilton Head. My parents have a timeshare and this year picked to go to Hilton Head. We were the lucky two they invited!! Thanks to our airline miles, it was basically a free trip minus the food. We had a great long weekend, despite the icky weather! A big thanks to my parents for inviting and hosting us!
Being in South Carolina brought back memories from when Colby lived in Georgia. I forgot how much I loved the gorgeous trees there. Last time Colby and I went to Hilton Head we didn’t get to spend much time as it was just a day trip to the beach from Savannah. This time, we were there for 5 days. We had 4 days of pure grey skies and occasional drizzle, but before we left on the 5th day the sun decided to come out (hence all the sun pictures)!! I didn’t complain – last year, when we were supposed to travel with my parents, we never even left our house because of the ice storm, so this year we were grateful we made it and had a good time! We enjoyed morning runs on the beach, driving around town, lots of time relaxing in the condo and outside, and great food! And, a bonus – we got to see dolphins close to shore (pictures of them below)!! That pretty much made my day!
The sun shining reminded me of God’s sweet blessings. I had been praying for sun since the minute we got there. He was faithful to answer my prayer. Even if He didn’t answer the prayer and we never saw the sun, He is still faithful. But, I hope this encourages you to believe for even the silly and little things, like the sun coming out. Keep asking, seeking, and knocking. God cares about the little things!
If you like the beach and gorgeous trees, I recommend the Carolinas/Georgia area! Even though I’m pretty sure Colby and I were the only two people under the age of 60 on the island, we still had a good time! Below are some pictures we took! Check out our other travels this year to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras and Arizona.
