Cruising

We got back this past Sunday from a last minute trip booked to Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel!

We never considered ourselves cruise people, but we ended up having a blast. There were so many benefits that we didn’t even realize. The first being the cost! Wow, talk about a cheap vacation. You know that we love to travel on a budget. Other thing we loved: the delicious (mass amounts) of food, wonderful service, visiting multiple places, plenty of entertainment and things to do on board, and meeting a lot of people. Even though we had both cruised before, it had been awhile. Instead of Mexico all-inclusives, this might be our new go-to trip!

Besides the fact that we only saw the sun for 2 days, we still had a great trip! The highlights for the week were cave tubing, zip lining, and the beach. On board we loved the ropes course, playing dodge ball and soccer, trivia nights, putt putt, the water slides, working out, the comedy shows (Christian comedian, pretty cool), and laying in the sun on the serenity deck (aka the quiet/relaxed part). We met some wonderful people and it was hard to come back (especially since it’s 30 degrees out).

Zip-lining in Honduras. Side note: funny story about this shirt.  I bought this shirt for Colby which says, ‘Jesus is the Light’. Someone asked Colby if he liked Twilight and we were super confused. We now know it’s a knock off of the Twilight logo. This proves how out of the loop we are!12-CIMG707613-CIMG7082CIMG7069

The last day on the ship. The weather was so bad they shut down everything on top. We spent 5 hours in the hot tub! This is me excited that no one else is up there! Not pictured: 50 mph wind gusts.

The pictures wouldn’t be complete without a towel animal!

We aren’t sure where our next trip will take us, but we are so grateful for all the traveling we are able to do!! We are excited to see where the next adventure takes us!

Oh this brought back fond memories of our cruise. You aren’t kidding about the food, it was overwhelming at times but much appreciated after long tiring excursions. Having meals included makes the traveling so much more affordable. Oh and I think you guys did the cave tubing with the same people we did. I think it was called back a bush tours. Did you try the cashew wine?? Seriously makes me want to go on a cruise right now I absolutely love the winter time but I am so over this single digit weather totally wishing for a reason to put on a swim suit!!

How Exciting! I did a very similar cruise a couple of years ago.. same locations! It was an awesome break, and like you said, super cheap! We have become cruise people ever since. Your pictures are beautiful! I am glad that you and Colby were able to spend time together and enjoy this nice mid-winter vacation.. especially during the Polar Vortes 😉

Looks like it was a blast!! Cruises are so fun 🙂 Way to go being courageous enough to go up on stage for Jeopardy! That is hilarious that you bought that shirt for Colby without knowing what it was in reference too! My uncle, who is a pastor, has it and loves that people recognize it for Twilight.

Wow. Looks like you guys had fun. I’ve been on a similar cruise. We love to travel and usually get good deals. If it was up to me hubby every vacation would be a cruise. I’m actually in the midst of trying to pick a vacation for our 5 year wedding anniversary without breaking the bank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I LOVE this!!! We were scheduled to go on this exact itinerary for our girls cruise in March, but when one of my other aunt’s decided to join us, we had to book a shorter one to fit her schedule. I’m so glad that you guys had a great time! I am dying to go to Belize and do the cave tubing, that looks incredible! I’m glad ya’ll had so much fun 🙂

Ok…. seriously, what cruise line did you go on that had clean entertainment? This has been the biggest pain for us, and we love cruises. This last week we were on one with Norwegian, and we attended only one. It was opera. We left a minute into it, but choices are so limiting.

I LOVE cruises for all the reasons you stated. It’s just SO cheap and easy and you don’t have to plan hardly anything! I took Jason on his first cruise last year and wasn’t sure if he’d like it or not. Sure enough, he loved it for all the same reasons. Who doesn’t love laying by a pool and then eating whatever you want and then doing a zipline in an exotic location? Ok, somebody maybe but not us!
